That rumor has been out for some time without much credibility. UA was still taking deliveries of Buses until May 02 I believe. UA still has 320/319's on order as far as I know, but when we will continue those deliveries or place a new order remains to be untold.

Actually the number is 44 currently, the order was placed prior to the BK filing and was not modified in the POR so it is expected that all ordered A/C will be delivered, there are talks of additional aircraft, but nothing firm.

There may be 44 a/c on order -- and nothing is set in stone while still in BK and could and probably will be, changed -- and it could indeed be additional a/c ordered -- but there certainly is not a bunch of Airbus parked in Toulouse and the French countryside with UA livery, just waiting to be delivered! THAT'S the statement that I found so humorous!
