Airbus to inspect all A380 superjumbos for wing cracks

Said they were only 'very small' cracks.....

35,000 feet....."WTF was that?........... A very small crack".

Does anyone build an airplane that doesn't crack before it's first birthday?

There is already a two page thread on this in the "airline news" section.

Hey Tom,
It's 'wing cracks' other cracks in SC are non union...

Whoops xUT, My BAD. I was referring to the B787 !

(Where the HEL* did I put those GD reading glasses ? ? ? ) :angry2:

Actually, Boeing says that the shims were improperly installed in Everett...

Jiim

"Boeing has found that incorrect shimming was performed on support structure on the aft fuselage on certain airplanes in our facility in Everett, [Washington]," said the airframer.

What's ironic about both the A380 and the 787 programs is that if either manufacturer had not messed up so badly one of them could be sticking it to the other right now.
