5]UPDATED 9:55 a.m. ET

5]Southwest Airlines is disputing a report in today'sNew York Post that says a LaGuardia airport worker took a terminal stair car to a nearby pizza joint for lunch this past Saturday.
5]Southwest spokesman Chris Mainz tells Today in the Sky that the Post's report is "completely" untrue.
5]The Post's story shows a picture of a worker driving the stair car on a street in New York's borough of Queens. The story is complete with a over-the-top headline that the colorful tabloid is known for.
5]But Mainz says the Post's version "spins that (photo) in a way that's different than what it really was."
5]Mainz tells Today in the Sky the driver is a worker for Allied Aviation, which performs maintenance and ground services for Southwest at LaGuardia. Allied has an office on nearby 19[sup]th[/sup] Avenue and the worker was driving the stair car there, according to Mainz.
5]"He was simply taking the equipment to their office for their standard upkeep and standard maintenance," Mainz tells Today in the Sky. "So nothing out of the ordinary. It (the stair car) had all the proper plates and tags they need to do so. He certainly was not going to get pizza."

Still, the Post's story created a buzz this morning – even earning a mention on the widely watched NBC Today Show.

While technically correct that it was Allied Aviation equipement and personelle, there still was a SOUTHWEST logo plastered on the side, and that is what the public sees.

I saw the word "Southwest" on the side but not Southwest Airlines or a SWA Logo.

How was the pizza, that's what important....

Rupert Murdocks NY Post is simply a printed version of FOX NEWS.

Good to see how SWA defends the workers though.

A big difference while myself held out for employment with SWA. Nice to see isn't it Bob? I wish that all the airlines would treat their employees the same as SWA does. A very good feeling indeed sir.
