Hey guys, I wanna take my hubby on an Alaska Fishing trip this summer, but don't want to go broke doing so. (we all know how little we make) Anyone been or know of any good companies up there to go with? THanks

I am going to move this over to the 'Water Cooler" maybe you can get a good answer there.

Several years ago one of my fishing buddies and I went to Alaska and had a super time! The outfit we utilized was RW's in Soldotna on the Kenai Peninsula. RW is a salty old dog but he does provide nice accomodations at a reasonable price. His new diggs are nice for the spouse.
I noticed on his web page that you can get 6 nights lodging and 4 half days (half days are plenty) of fishing for halibut and salmon for $1195.00. He furnishes EVERYTHING to: guides, boats, bait and equipment.
I caught several halibut, one over 200 lbs and many silver salmon. Just a good time all the way around.
His number is 1-800-478-6900......BEST OF LUCK!

My recommendations.........take a cruise and take a side fishing trip out of one of the ports.

Swifty's Alaska Adventures 1-877-478-5050 Ask for the travel indusry rate. (Travel agents are 50% off-hopefully they will extend the offer to airline employees.)

My brother goes every year. He takes an air taxi to either a US Forest Service Cabin or an Alaska State Parks Public Use Cabin. Cabins run 25 to 65 dollars a night with most of them under 35.
