Click on section 3, Question & Answer, fast forward to right around the 1:12:30 mark. Unbelievable!!! He sounds almost jovial in his remarks about Delta asking the PGBC to review the pension issues and possibly reinstating them in light of the improved financial picture. I love his comment, "don't worry about it". These are his own people he is pissing on!!! I love this guy!!!

Did you not listen to his snide remarks??? This is a man who found nearly $11 billion for an ill-advised hostile takeover attempt, yet when the suggestion of going back and fulfilling promises made to fund US Airways workers hard-fought pension, he merely tells his slavemasters

""yet another means of Delta trying to show, uh, i don't know what they're trying to do, don't worry about it"

And you actually back this clown??? What we're trying to do is get him to fund your pensions like ours. Unfathomable

USA320Pilot comments: There is no employee who would like to see their pension restired than me. Believe me, we at US Airways like the pilots at Delta would love to see our DB Plan restored, but I doubt leading institutions would provide the airline the funds to do it. US Airways obtained financing to acquire Delta because the merger would have created $1.65 billion in total annual synergies and according to Scott Kirby about $1.0 billion in additional annual profits.

The financiers were interested in loaning US Airways money to generate profits to drive the bankers ROI, not hundreds of millions of dollars in capital expenditures.

I suggest you're smart enough to understand that...then again... 😱

USA320Pilot

If i could be so frank, i could care less what Wall Street thinks about M&A's. This is about Parker taking care of those who take care of him. Tell me, how can DAL offer employee pensions to non-pilots AND, once we exit bankruptcy, have the lowest unit cost of all network carriers? I know Parker can do it, the real question is why won't he?

I heard him, and he's an arrogant son-of-%^&*%

Its by luck and his good fortune that the stars were aligned and he inherited an airline that has postioned itself to make money while the other legacies are still restructuring.

Once the other legacies are finished with their restructuring, Dougie will have to operate the airline and focus on a "product" that customers want and are willing to leave another carrier to get.

This will be interesting...

The company could have froze the pension plans and I am sure they knew they could do this and still emerge. Your leadership bought into the J.Glass's BS and dumped your own pensions. We on the other hand (IAM and AFA) had it terminated by a judge.

USAirways sits today, 18 months after emerging from BK with $3 billion in CASH. And ALPA has to continue working beyond 60 years old preventing other more junior pilots from moving to the Left seat.

I think you are smart enough to comprehend this..but then again, kool-aid has a way of soaking up the juice.

Yes, US sits here, 18 months later with cash, and no merged contracts. I am finding it increasingly sickening that employees are not even close to obtaining fair contracts. Where in the he!! is the outrage, AFA? Press releases? Billboards? ANYTHING?? Baffling! Shouldn't I have an informational picket sign in my hand or a green ribbon to wear by now? Where is Shamblin? Is she for real? Get with it, honey, and put some real deals on the table! I am not asking to be a rich stewardess, just one that can afford to live.....

OK, I feel better now....

I am baffled why the unions aren't stirring much more noise, too.

With the strong retorhic from a bipartisan group in the Senate who are making some noise by writing a Bill that would reinstate the USAiways pension plans since they have so many billions to scout an airline for a hostile takeover...I would think the unions would use this to their advantage and really bring this into light.

H-e-l-l-o people...window of opportunity here...

This would at the very least put some immediate pressure on management to enhance the contracts for their labor groups and close these deals.

Pitbull, what you mentioned only makes sense. It also takes a little brain power which I'm sorry, this AFA union certainly doesn't have. There is NO leadership and the one at the top does NOTHING except put out barely worthwhile E-lines. Yep everythings juuuuust fantastic. I MAKE US FLY and OUR PAYCHECKS MAKE US CRY! ! !

The billions belonged to Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.

You go ask them how much they will loan us to restore the pensions.

The US pensions were stripped long before Doug came into the picture. And speaking of pensions, how is yours over there at DL???? 😀

Only growing at 3% per year rather than 5%, but hopefully that will be addressed soon. Thanks for asking.
