Got a letter from USAir dated 03/07 that stated that employee travel was considered taxable income for furloughed employees.

They neglected to send a 1099 prior to Jan 31st, and suggested that I ammend my tax-return if i've already filed it. (I have)

Just wondering what other folks are doing with this if you've received the same letter.

I received mine, 86'd it. As far as I am concerned got lost in the mail....

if you are on a voluntary furlough do you still need to claim the imputed income?

Is there any recourse to get USAir to pay my accountant's fees for the amendment? I was under the impression that they legally had to send 1099s by Jan 31?
There should be.......but I doubt it. There is probably an "I made a mistake" clause somewhere.
