"They need to lose their misplaced sense of entitlement," 49-year-old America West captain Eric"

"As for the sacrifices made by the old US Airways pilots through two bankruptcies: "Their salary and benefits cuts have finally brought them down to what we have been paid all along," Mr. Havsta said. "And now because we saved their bacon from the fire we should be junior to them?"

""They made their decision to work at USAir; I made mine to work at America West, which, by the way, has historically been the LOWEST paid airline in the U.S. The East pilots have been paid far and above what America West pilots have been paid over the same period of time doing the same job."

OK, you win.

The West pilots are tired of listening to us whine about losing something they never had and using it as justification for trying to steal their jobs.

It's not just the West pilots but the rest of the world, save Iraq and Afghanistan. All that's happening at this point is that the AAA MEC is begging to have Parker keep the pilots separate so that he can offer up PHL to the DOJ Anti-Trust Gods when the next merger occurs. With the stroke of a pen, thousands of PHL jobs will be "synergized" with the flying moved to IAD (UAL) or JFK+ATL (DAL).

West pilots equals rest of world (except Iraq and Afghanistan)?

"begging"? Parker has no say. Why would anyone "beg" from a bystander?

and, over 80% of PHL pax are what is called, origination pax, meaning US doesn't have to stuff their PHL flights with connectors, like they do in PHX and CLT.

PHL would supplement JFK+ATL or IAD+ORD rather than being closed to prevent poaching. Had PHX better facilities, future survival would not be in doubt.

Since the O&D in PHL is without question high why then does US insist on forcing the majority of it's east coast operation through it then?
