AMFA at AA- consolidated thread

Yeah that 's what I want, another Union that operates strategically to prevent anyone else from getting on the ballot. I call that anti-American, anti-Democratic, and defeating and preventing the will of the membership to be known.

How can you say this? After all, by your own admission several time on this board, you signed a card for the Teamsters. You helped create the events in front of you and now you complain?

FYI I support AMFA over TWU, IAM and IBT. I want you to win this election. You need to stop slinging BS useless stuff around and stick to the issue at hand which is to win the election if there is one or get on a the merger ballot if there is one. If the IBT wins this election you are probably lost and won't have a merger election because I know for a fact the IBT did submit enough cards vs US's list. (the companies list was around 15 less then the IBT's list and the IBT submitted around 61% of the list) Of course the cards need to be checked by NMB and the IAM can still protest list. God help us if the IBT gets in both US and AA.

I respectfully disagree with your last sentence. This incident is just another example of AMFA's irresponsibility, and the Teamsters diligence. As a former member of IAM, AMFA, and the IBT, the latter has done a much better and responsible job so far. They may be more help to both airlines than you realize.

For the record, I appreciate the honesty in your posts. Even those I do not agree with.

I know this is impossible for stooges like you to understand, but I want the membership to have a ballot, and unlike your type, I will accept whatever outcome that brings, regardless of my own opinion. It is the American way. Rest assured, I will never cast a vote for the IBT, I just signed a card to authorize an election. The sooner IBT is gone from AA the better.

Signing a card for a union that you wont vote for is asinine and has caused the situation you are in.

What situation is that? I am content, happy, and still employed. What situation? There still has yet to be proven enough interest for a dispute. Take my card out and I bet the IBT charade would still be in progress. Send me an IAM card I will sign it also. I want the membership to get a ballot and put this to rest.

That you want AMFA and they are now blocked, so you have to choose between the ibt and twu if there is a vote, yes you can write in AMFA, or if the ibt filed short your barred for another year and stuck with the twu.

People really need to educate themselves on what signing an A-Card really means.

For ONCE I agree with you.

It's not just to get a vote, it's to get a vote for the UNION that YOU want.

All of the research we the AMFA organizers did to show how bad it would be with the IBT then just to sign a IBT card, while supporting AMFA is just wrong.

Well I just try to tell it like it is, never sign a card for a union you have no intentions of voting for, its just screwing yourself.

Never sign a card out of anger, sign it for the failures of the current union and sign a card for a union that you would vote for.

So what now?
Anytime someone mentions AMFA now, it has to be stuck into one bloated thread regardless of the topic?
Where is the consolidated teamster thread?

NMB Rejects AMFA’s Election Application at AA

May 31, 2013
This morning we learned that the National Mediation Board officially rejected AMFA’s application for an election at American Airlines. The Board determined that under well-established NMB rules, AMFA failed to properly file its election petition, thereby barring AMFA from the ballot in the upcoming representation election.

Click here to read the Board’s decision regarding NMB Case No. R-7365.

As the NMB found in its letter this morning, AMFA failed to meet a number of well-known requirements for successfully filing a petition for “intervenor status” in a union election at AA:

  1. AMFA’s application did not have the original signatures required by NMB rules.

  2. AMFA’s application was not signed by the chief executive officer of the organization.

  3. AMFA did not submit original authorization cards with its application on the 28th.

  4. AMFA did not submit its application and the supporting authorization cards until after AA submitted its eligibility list.
The bottom line is that the Board found that AMFA failed to file in a timely and adequate manner.

How's that for representation??

You probably shouldn't count your chickens before they are hatched.
There are plenty of arguments to be made against what happened with that filing by the IBT, and the way the NMB ruled.
The most important issue is the wishes of the majority of the group voting for a change. Your buddies screwed the membership!
What the IBT and NMB did was without a doubt a back door deal - with help from the TWU and AA! Too many coincidences.
The IBT, not even on the property - cutting deals with the company - you know what - no effing thanks.....

You blamed everyone but the organization that let you down. Have you no common sense at all?
