A second union has submitted a challenge to current representation among maintenance workers at American Airlines, organizers for the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association said Tuesday.
The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association submitted paperwork to the National Mediation Board on Tuesday to challenge for representation rights for American Airline’s 11,000 maintenance workers.
AMFA’s move comes just hours after the International Brotherhood of Teamsters submitted their own collection of signatures with the National Mediation Board.
“As an American Airlines mechanic, the reason that we want AMFA is because we are sick and tired of being represented by these Goliath unions that you can’t control,” said Don Rodgers, an employee at the Tulsa maintenance base who has been working to collect signatures for AMFA....Read More
