Well Eric, I'm guessing that you and I would consider whatever ... ' WARREN ' is doing / not doing / gonna' do / with BNSF as far as hauling from the west coast ports is concerned a very good indicater of how concerned he is with the Panamax ship / third canal.

OK I'm going back to my elementary school days back in the damn 60s, which unless someone re-wrote it goes something like this...In the north it was a great expense to own slaves. The growing season was short and winters were cold and rough. So the stereotypical slave would have been a liability rather than asset in the great white cold north.

Extrapolating 'it' out a bit further, the Only difference between SLAVERY, HOLOCAUST 1   and HOLOCAUST 2, was that the Southern slavers would (bottom line) not try to KILL / Wipe out the slaves.

Bears is one of those people that like to attribute all the failings of the human race on the American people....... as long as they are white. He would like you to ignore the fact that these things happened throughout the world by every race throughout (and most likely BEFORE) recorded history.

I am troubled by this thread. Unions by their very nature and Federal Law are required to act in their members best interests. (see Duty of Fair Representation). Their leaders are duly elected by the members to accomplish the goals of the organization. Just as shareholders elect the Board of Directors.
 
To outsiders or those with an agenda of course they seem greedy! Why? Because they are, Just like the members of the Board of Directors they seek the best deal for those they represent. Many a company has fired a CEO because of performance of the company stock. Everybody hass a boss no matter the income. The free market is the ultimate boss and a cruel harsh taskmaster.
