You do realize that US Airways employees have NO healthcare at retirementMy healthcare isn't much better than most airline employees. But it is better than state workers.

Every single pilot that had his/her PBGC pension capped at $37,500 needs to call his/her Senator and demand that all public sector pensions are capped the same as yours .. before any changes are made to your SS and Medicare! You need to hurry!
In fact every single employee at US Airways needs to call and demand this before your SS and Medicare changes.

CWA/agents are responsible for paying 100% of the medical premium at age 65. At 65 retired employees and their dependents are not eligible to participate in or of have access to any post 65 medical plan through USAirwaysSome do, you can exchange unused sick time to extend healthcare after retirement.

You are really barking up the wrong tree, take the time to improve your wages and benefits, not at the expense of others, dont like it, go get a public sector job.Every single pilot that had his/her PBGC pension capped at $37,500 needs to call his/her Senator and demand that all public sector pensions are capped the same as yours .. before any changes are made to your SS and Medicare! You all ready sound like their mouthpiece and a poster child for the right.
So basically this is about early retirement? You would really freak out if you knew that cops and firefighters get full healthcare and benefits and can retire with 100% after 20 years of service in my state!
If it's the healthcare benefits, in the real world everybody qualifies for Medicare at 62, which is when most Of us can actually qualify for retirement. If you worked at another job, such as US, if you can get a public employee job if you work 10 years you will get the full health benefits. Oh wait remember I talked about a new tier 5 in my state? Now it's 12 years of service. Remember I mentioned a tier 6 the state wants to pass? I believe that will be 15 years of service.
If it makes you feel better, our dental is no longer covered at retirement.
😛 :Nope, solidly in the middle. Registered independent .... I don't drink anybodies cool-lade. That stuff will kill you, I don't care who hands it to you!
Oh I'm sorry that my benefits are better than yours. I guess US must hire those who couldn't find a job anywhere else! Either way I'm locked in and my benefits are better than yoursOh my goodness, this would be so funny .... if it were not true! I rest my case.
You need to get engaged ..... try C-Span instead of American Idle once in a while!
Do you work here?
Great I'm 55! But that's your gov trying to save SS in some form. Full retirement was once at 65. I'm at 67 or 66 and a half for full retirement. People are living longer and that is why the claim is made. Eventually full retirement will go up. As warped as the government is, their way of thinking is that the early SS retirement should go up, too. Thus Medicare and everything else.Under the Ryan plan current Medicare enrollees will lose benefits and they will pay more for prescription drugs. Those under 55, Jan 1, 2012 however, really get the raw end of the deal. If you are aged 44 to 54, you better hope your retirement account can handle an additional $200,000 in out of pocket expenses to cover medical expenses. The Ryan Plan’s method for “saving money” is making you pay a lot more in the long run.
