😱 oh my gawd....I stared at it like a starving man at a steak dinner.....

have a look at the panel I fly with at 40 feet over the churning ocean at night to dip my sonar and chase submarines....don't bother looking for any autopilot, HSI or even a standard T...there isn't any......

FireHawk, what are you doing in a 47? Don't you know that you're a 212 pilot, and possibly too large to be in a 47, (unless it's a G3B1 or larger). 😀

It is a top secret mission and I have been the chosen one, It will be our new monashees private group machine, You know at one time the 47 was a great ski machine and it will be replacing our 407 this year

Your recurrent training will be done also on it Im told, Class D external load training with Parks. 😉 .

Been there, done that, got the T shirt B) In a previous life, ASW Sea Kings for Aunty Betty when they were new and shiny, and I was young enough to think that Ripple 3 for two weeks was challenging with 150 yards vis in fog, at night 🙄

mawddawg, are you referring to "Turbo" or Turbine....big difference.
Most of the later Bell 47's had a turbo, or more correctly a Turbocharger, that exhaust driven boost system with a pesky milli-second lag.
A choice few Bell 47's were fitted with the Soloy Allison C-20 Turbine, great lifter, short range, but still as slow as a ............. !
I personally don't know of any out there. I have seen a few Soloy Turbine powered Hiller 12E(T)'s still around though.

I would assume that it would be turbocharged, I have no idea where 'ol Firehawk would have found a Bell 47, but I sure wish that it was me flying the old beast today, Hey Firehawk 'ol buddy I have a request.... 😉

3 weeks to go and I get my 407 back. 😀

Mawddog- The 47 here is a g-2, They are turbo charged. Wooden blades also. Here is a picture for you. Hopefully it works. They are still the best training machines around.

407 driver I will be jumping in the 206 heading back home tommorrow. Did Hollywood return yet?

Firehawk, That looks like CYXX airport??, as for Hollywood, He's due to be released from the local jail up there on Sat AM, then escorted out-of-town, to arrive in YYC on Sunday. Rumor has it that the police escort to the departure gate is a good thing, there may be a few young local gals that either really miss him leaving, or want to cause him bodily harm, dont know how many or which type they are....
He'll take over the base work on Sunday, so I can take a day off....been flying every day here since he left. What were you dong in that 47? (lucky Dog!)

maybe it's been a while, but..................

the G2 that i flew in the arctic so many moons ago didn't have a turbo-charger. it was just the plain SUCK, SQUEEZE, BANG n BLOW!!! it did however have wooden blades. tapping the nails back down during my DI was common 😱 😱
