Bethune to run the New Delta?

I am sure Bethune will say what DAL wants him to say...whatever "that" is for $250K.

To be clear, DAL did not hire Mr. Bethune... creditors of DAL did. The creditors are a varied group, who are as independent as any two people. Mr. Bethune is the impartial party in order to keep emotion out of this decision and analyze this on its' financial merits.

The creditors themselves are beholden to their stockholders. If the creditors refuse to weigh the deal financially simply because of the wishes of the employees, then THE CREDITORS could end up in court, sued by the stockholders within their respective companies.

Follow the dinero.

You are correct, the creditors hired Bethune, DAL is PAYING Bethune on behalf of the creditors.

I am a stockholder in some of the respective companies.

DAL pilots should be protesting in front of Coca-Cola, Boeing, PBGC, Fidelity offices. Include Goldman Sachs, they just bought millions of claims recently.

Remember ALPA is one of the largest creditors. Hard to fly an "Airline Without a Pilot". What do they have to lose? Their pension?

Sad days ahead.

Don't be so negative. Whatever happens we should be wishing each other the best. None of us are calling the shots.

Then I wouldn't be on DL's boards making ubsubstantiated claims that DL will be fragmented. Those kinds of statements serve as flamebait.

It's always been that way. They like you if you're pro-merger. If you're not, then they throw in either fragmentation or "stapling" of seniority lists. I, for one, refuse to worry about something I have no control over. When the offers are finalized, the plans are submitted, and the government has approved, then I'll worry about if I have to. Kinda like Scarlet O'Hara!

I do not support a frag of Delta, unlike some I know at Delta that were drooling over the eminent demise of U three years ago. Here is what I am saying:

Parker is schrewd. He's a new-era CEO wonder boy and has Wall Streets' attention. Do you really think that DP hasn't spoken to UAL, NW, CAL,AA? Don't underestimate him. He does his homework to a "T".

Parker does not want fragmentation because he knows that it would bring a holy war within Delta.

Neither do I. This job is tough enough.
