Next thing you know we will be informed that our J P Morgan 401K "Bond" investments have all been placed into these exact bonds and we will lose money there also.

WOW! Good point. Now you have me wondering if part of my dues are going into some bond fund. Surely the International would not make such an investment.

Well I don't know.
But I was talking our personal 401K accounts, for those that have 401K money in bond investments.

Your dues money becomes the union's operating capital, its not yours anymore.

WOW! That is another stunning educational piece.
Of course if the membership is the Union, which in TWU/IAM and other industrial unions is not the case, then indeed we should still own it.
But I regress to the truth that you so perfectly explain.
Thank You

As am I. There is an interesting correlation between AMR and JP Morgan. My 401k and my Retiree Medical.

Yes, even if I wanted to use a portion of my dues for other personal preferences, I cannot do so. If I would like to donate to the 99% , I have to let the union do that for me. If the TWU International has used their operating capital to purchase AMR based bonds, then there might be some justice.
