CNN headline news has been running -with very few details - a "developing story" that injuries resulted after a mishap with a jetway at a US gate at Logan. Although the on screen graphic, in CNN standard incompetence, kept saying "wheel falls off plane", the announcer did say that it is was the jetway that had lost a wheel. No mention of a flight number or if the mishap happened during boarding or deplaning. The picture showed a helicopter shot of an Airbus at a gate with a bunch of official looking people standing around looking at the jetway along with some vehicles with flashing lights. No close up of the jetway.

It looks like a motor contactor kept driving the wheel bogie, the limit switch didn't stop it. But thats just looking from 50ft. However, even that would cause it to destroy the wiring, not let go.

Jetway Collapses At Logan Airport

(CBS4) BOSTON The wheels on a jetway at Logan Airport collapsed Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. at gate 6 of Terminal B.

We're told 100 passengers on US Airways flight 944 from Philadelphia were leaving the plane when the jetway, which connects the plane to the terminal, buckled.

Only one was injured and taken to the hospital, though the nature of that injury has not been released.

A US Airways employee was taken to Boston Medical Center with a minor shoulder injury.

There appeared to be minor damage to the US Airways airbus.

According to the news, one of the wheels on the jetway collapsed, causing a shoulder injury to a US Airways employee, and minor damage to the aircraft.

The video looked normal though.

No passengers were injured.

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery to the injured employee.

People couldn't have been exiting and hence injured if they where still driving the jetway. By the way some of those really hall @$$ when you drive them!

Kinda off topic, but just look at that sharp paint job. Shame they went to cheap looking white. oh well

Word on the line tonight is that the jetway failed and fell. There was one person on the jetway who may have had minor injuries.

The aircraft was damaged as the jetway canopy took the door off the aircraft as it fell.

Again, this is from a line employee who was in BOS at the time.
