Say what you will guys/gals, but to me...THIS.speak's Volumes. For that matter, ANY airline flying domestically out of DFW going to (say) MIA, or especially JFK/LGA/BOS gets my attention. I probably (now) have a better Idea as to why AA is buying Airbus equiptment.
(oh sure, I know that the...."We are always better to play boeing Against Airbus" will be spouted here soon, but if one REALLY reads the TEA Leaves very very closely, things do have a way of tipping thier hand) Kind of why long time Bookies are so dam* good at nailing point spreads with really Scary accuracy !

You shouldn't post while drunk!!

Well I'm sure YOU remember how fast AA went after DL when DL wanted to "set up shop" in DFW, and I'm not referring to DL flying ATL/DFW. Additionally, if this were B6 flying this NEW route from JFK/DFW, again, no eyebrows raised.
You can "bet your Bippy" that B6 and AA had a discussion or two BEFORE this baby was announced !

What was announced?

err....Not sure that many were around when Delta started DAL-SHV-MLU-JAN in 29 (which was extended to BMH-ATL from JAN and AFW for DAL in 30) 😛h34r:

AFW didn't even exist until the late 80's. Service between DAL and Fort Worth was to Meacham (FTW), still alive & well and considered the downtown airport in FTW to some...

I believe his reference is to DFW since that is the airport which received DL's replacement service that once operated to DAL.
.
It is highly doubtful that B6 and AA "talked" about this service before it was announced because 1. they are not legally permitted to do so and 2. because B6 has said they added DFW because it was one of the largest cities that it did not serve. The fact that they have some marketing agreements with AA that may give them an advantage in picking up some loyal AA passengers helps but AA and B6 don't share revenue (aren't permitted to do so) which means that AA and B6 are competitors and will act in their own individual best interests. AA's pullback in the NE has created significant opportunities for B6 to grow.
AA IS NOT any more interested in seeing a marketing partner start service on key AA routes such as BOS-ORD and BOS-DFW than it is in seeing DL start DFW-LGA.
