BTS 2Q Financial Reports Released

Is that ALL you found in that report?

You got to take these BTS reports with a grain of salt. Go to Delta's 2Q report at delta.com and they say their operating profit was $369 Mil not $393. The margin says 7.9% not 11.1%. I have no idea what they do that makes these numbers so far off.

Update: My guess is the BTS numbers include Delta mainline only whereas Comair has their own profit/loss report. And it's up to each airline to choose what bucket they want the costs/revenue to go in.

there's all kinds of data differences in DOT compared w/ what would be permitted to submit to the SEC.

You missed that, according to DOT data, CO posted an operating loss, the only network carrier to do so. I'll too take it with a grain of salt on the same basis as the other asteriks but it can't be fun in Houston right now.

The BTS data is domestic only....it doesn't include international. My guess would be that DL actually lost money on international (a lot of new routes starting) hence why they reported lower operating profits.

ATA and Spirit continue their string of money losing Quarters. IMHO the two most vulnerable airines in the industry.

Except Spirit's loss was a planned loss in a total fleet reconfiguration. Also, new management is in place. Heads have rolled. Also, notice the difference between 2005 and 2006. The last MD-80 left September 10th. They are now in new hire and expansion mode. But it is all planned and financed. But this is a Delta issue?
