Hey 'Dog.

What about...(UNCLE) HERMAN Cain  ???

I wonder what would happen if the US increased tariff on imported goods from companies that had franchises/stores here? Seems like if you want to take ad a tag of the benefits of the US market, you should have to play by the same rules.

Only thing moving is corp. HQ. All product sourcing would be here

If BK is out side the US they are importing goods to the US for their chains and exporting the profits out. If they want to leave, make it hurt. Not sure why they should be allowed to make a large fortune here and not pay their fair share of taxes.

Two words! Free Market

Ah yes, the free market.  The market that brought you DDT's, Ford Pinto, various drugs that are known to be dangerous, lead paint, asbestos .....   I'll pass.

It sure is fun to watch how the liberals have twisted the deal, but here is the reality -- Burger King bought a larger company, and is moving the holding company accordingly. In principle, it's no different from the US-AA merger.

Seems to me that the headquarters belongs where you have the largest investment. Canada has 3x as many employees and produces 1.5x as much revenue.

Any discussion ignoring those facts is simply ignorance on display...

Certainly, there is a tax benefit from moving the headquarters -- why should BK pay higher corporate taxes in the US when the majority of their combined revenues are being generated in Canada?

If GE can do it, certainly it's fair game for BK.

Sparrow is correct that most of the sourcing will be in the US. But, it wouldn't surprise me to see some of it shift.

As a donut shop, TH buys a lot of flour and coffee... grain is something Canada produces a lot of, particularly winter wheat. If they were to start sourcing flour for BK's bread products, they might see some buying advantages. BK always had the ability to source Canadian raw materials if they wanted to, but the purchasing power of the combined company might be too good to pass up on certain items.

Wrong! Change the "Outrageous" tax code in this country and encourage company's to move "THEIR" businesses into the U.S., instead of them wanting to move out!
