I am helping my father (the c182 owner/pilot) plan a vacation flight from Georgia to Sedona, AZ. One of his planning tasks is deciding on a path into Sedona from somewhere East - maybe Albuquerque. Concerns are keeping a reasonable elevation (not too high) and flying nearby any locations that are especially scenic (viewed from the air). Once in Sedona - we may want to plan some sight seeing flights in AZ.
I am into mapping (and not a pilot)- with Google Earth and other tools - and looking for any path recommendations - either as gps track data or simply a list of locations.
FYI - there is a free path elevation/profile tool at http://www.heywhatsthat.com/profiler.html
It produced this image - showing elevation between Albuquerque and Sedona.
Thanks for any advice, or recommendations on other websites I should look at.
