I read in the National Post yesterday that PM Paul Martin announced we are purchasing 3 brand new navy ships that will be larger than our former aircraft carrier, and will carry up to 4 of our new maritime helis. They will be used for Headquarters / Command Posts, transport of Army equipment and soldiers (and special forces), and temporary field hospitals for times of crisis. The ships and helis are supposed to all be here by 2015.
