Carbon Monoxide on a passenger jet

The other day on television they said the crew of a passenger jet became ill from carbon monoxide poisioning. I've never heard of such a thing. Where would the carbon monoxide come from? The galley (microwaving food), airconditioning and heating, the engines? Isn't such an incident kind of rare -- and odd?

I'd say it so rare it is unheard of. Now, there have been hydraulic leaks onto hot ducts that have stunk up an airplane and make people nauseaus but I have never heard of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I was just googling around and found a link to the story and a likely explanation. If it's not one thing it's another with air travel.

I was going to add that a piece of ground equipment could have been exhausting into the open door of the aircraft or close to the intake of the apu but even then, they should have smelled the diesel exhaust and have the cart moved and I would have suspected more than just the crew would have felt the effects. Oh well. Live and learn!
