And am I right that AA flights use the Delta federal inspection facility at LAX?

Not since August, 2002, when AA's opened its T-4 inspection facility.

And, using the "AA bought MIA from Eastern" argument is splitting hairs just a little too thin, don't you?

jimntx,

Remember, It's WorldTraveler that you're speaking of.

Row,
I too thought Jim was a spry young thing w/ all his wisdom packed into a few short years. I'll get him off my pedestal now that I know he gained all of his wisdom the old-fashioned way rather than on the accelerated plan. :)

Jim,
I'm afraid you're plucking hairs if you don't allow me to acknowledge that AA's presence on the east coast except for NYC, BOS, and WAS to a lesser degree has largely been built since 1978 and MIA is an acquired hub that is less than 15 years old. And please don't pluck your hairs.... they'll fall out all by themselves soon enough.

To reiterate and clarify my wording.... I don't believe a single carrier that operated a hub on the east coast (any state that borders the Atlantic) in 1978 has managed to stay out of bankruptcy. Using that definition, let me know if I am wrong.
