Cheerleader Camp August 7th

I think the whole operation would be a GREAT Script for "Saturday Night Live". Just had a situation where a family of 4 was boarded, asked to deplane, reboard and then the Adult was summoned off the a/c for no apparent reason.

Pilot announces, we're returning to the gate AGAIN, for one more passenger (not even booked on this flight.) Our flight would bring him close to his original airport. All in all, 4 HOURS Late!

It would seem to me that any serious management team would be routinely talking with front line employees regarding what is and is not working, and not need to schedule dog and pony shows to gather information from the front line.

Unfortunately, the bunker mentality of simply listening to themselves and others who are trying to work their way up the food chain by giving management constant good news doesn't work. Hence they are, almost always, totally surprised when things don't go well.

I know several people going and many have reservations whether ANYTHING will be accomplished other than a "Glorified Pissing Match". On a personal note, I was asked to particpate and politely DECLINED.........told my Suprv, "I don't kibbutz with STUPID" (and that's MY STORY.......along with my Lavish F/C Party, fortune cookies and all (since I have placed them in the Snack Basket and joked about the Service to China, I have received 32 A&B coupons from our most prized customers.........We Laugh, mock and literally cry over THEIR stupidity! And one man almost pissed himself when he saw the cookies. :lol:
 
PineyBob you HIT the Nail on the Head, AGAIN! Funny thing ......YOU and I get it and THEY still don't or EVER Will. Their half-*ssed, meager TownHall approach/IceCream social style of employee relations is NOTHING more of Blowing Smoke up someones *ss..........I am NOT Buying it TODAY, TOMORROW or Next WEEK. Until THEY Get THEIR ACT TOGETHER, I will continue to be their harshest critic, thorn in their useless *sses and LET EVERYONE KNOW "What Makes US FLY". It is a damn shame Tempe doesn't have an ounce of business accumen that You possess, along with US1YFare and Art. They can keep that Above & Beyond bullsh*t as far as I am concerned........I probably get more than the average employee but couldn't care less about their "BRIBE MONEY". I am certainly NO FAN of THIS MANAGEMENT Team and IF I turned in the coupons (which I don't) would give the money to charity. They Suck, Period!
 
This is a meeting for selected FA's and "a meeting" is what it is. I don't know for certain what's going to happen at this meeting, but I will be there and will be happy 😀 to pass on information to you. It is the FA Focus meeting that gives us the (FA's) the chance to push the company to give us our tools to do our jobs, thats about all I know. :up:
I'm not a cheerleader so if thats whats happening, then I will be out of the meetings from here on out.

To help me with this, :blink: what FA issues are most important to you when performing your job? Is it..not enough BOB meals? The manifest? The gate agents? Procedures? Share and we'll see what we can do. 🙂

Why are they doing this now when sick calls on the East side have skyrocketed in the last week ??? Due to weather in CLT and PHL last weekend, a lot of F/As couldn't commute in so they had to call in SCK.

The airplanes are hot and there are delays everywhere so they will probably continue that SCK call for another week or maybe two...why not ? On the East side, you can call in SCK for 21 days straight and it only counts as one SCK call. I don't know how anyone can afford it with the company taking 30 cents on the dollar of our SCK pay---which to me is stealing---but they do it.

We are so short F/As over here. The covergae update today said that things are critical for F/A coverage in PIT and PHL for tomorrow. I didn't even call CLT update. There are still trips open for tomorrow w/ no F/As to cover them. I have been split on/off 3 out of base trips in the last week. They have sucked PIT dry as far as RSVs go and no one in any base is allowed to TWOP plus the bid sheet has been restricted everyday.

No one can drop or pick up anything off the ETB board due to the 24/7 rule. Morale around here is miserable so NOW they are going to take HOW MANY people off line on Tuesday to go to some dumb meeting that should have been scheduled sometime in September when air travel falls back a bit ???

I heard there are actually two meetings---one in the afternoon and one in the morning---WTF were they thinking ???

This is almost as dumb as introducing SHARES during Spring Break travel.
 
During this "meeting" you f/a's have got to be really agressive. I have seen meetings on the hub between the f/a and the company and have been very disappointed that some of you have not come back at them when they make meaningless and rediculous remarks. Let's just pray that all in attendance have major PMS or at the height of a major hot flash. Go get 'em girls!!
 
I am not part of this process but am somwhat aware of what is taking place. This is a meeting is NOT a "town hall". This meeting will consist of FA's from all bases (east and west) and be attended by FA's that want to be a part of it and can have an impact. These FA's were invited to be at those meetings. Just like a union, these FA's are representing the entire workforce and the entire workforce was asked to participate but needed to let them know they were interested. So Travelpro..I hope you can take a break from this board and the townhalls and participate in some solutions rather than using this board to vent. This has been in the planning for several months and goes beyond the town halls to a more directed approach. The problems and solutions are going to take time to identify, prioritize and ultimately work towards improvement or down right fixing. Some solutions may prove to be too expensive on initial findings, the group may have to find other alternative methods or figure out more realistic approaches. These meetings will be ongoing, this isn't just "one meeting".
 
View attachment 6210Piney- I can assure you it is the same cool-aid drinking "Annelles" that always participate in this stuff. They don't want to hear the bad. They did invite a few rebel rousers to make it look balanced but I know a few great flight attendants that asked to attend and were told no. Philly inflight will do anything to cover thier inept leadership. I hear a major shake up is coming and I hope they start in PHL.
As for the meeting, I hope something good comes out of it. Give em the truth and make em swallow it! Drink the juice Shelby, Cooperate Please!
