Cheerleader Camp August 7th

when sherri was promoted yes i was happy becuase it was a new person and we needed someone fresh and new to guide inflight .(i was bumbed to see ron cole go) i do admit she has made mistakes along the way. and decisions that drove me up the wall. i have seen her in the crew news sessions and wondered what the hell is she saying and why is she saying that . i have met sherri personally and she is a good person . she really does care for the f/a group . i may be wrong but i think she came into this without knowing how vocal the east f/a group was going to be. i told her on a flight once that you need to becareful what you say to the east f/a group . they will chew you up and spit you out. that was after the crew news when a f/a asked about the reserve issue and she said " well it's a sticky situation because that was voted on" that got me boiling. i confronted her about that on a flight . i told her that we did not vote on that. we voted on a lto system with a pref bid system. but what i like about sherri is that she takes critisisim from f/a very well. now wheni talk to her i am not disprespectful. sherri has a tough job trying to guide this combined f/a group. i sure as hell wouldn't want it . would you ? i think that her forming this group is a good step. will it work ? i never saw sherri groff doing anything like this. heck she never even answered any e-mails she had sheryl lendevay do that. i we do not like her that's fine but we have to work with her. you guys want to see change overnight hey so do i but it doesen't work that way. i am not a very patient person myself. i think she is trying . i am a lover not a fighter but when i have to fight i will . and if she does something or say something i feel is wrong belive me she hears from me . i am not going to not like her because other people do not like her . it could be anyone in her position and that person will not be liked because you cannot satisfy everyone especially the f/a group. i just really don't know what else to tell you buddy.
and ps . i am not the only one who joined this focus goup so cut the bashing on etops ok. i have done nothing wrong and neither has the other f/a's who joined. we are all trying to make it right not wrong. we know there are problems out there that need to be fixed. big problems. we have been running a crappy inflight service for more than while and we need to get it right. that's why this group was formed. it wasn't so you guys could start calling us cheerleaders or kool-aid drinkers. we are far far from that. there are 160 very vocal and pissed off f/a's in this group including myself. you all had a chance to join to voice your anger and opinions on what needs to change. you decided not to because you did not care. it won't change by just sitting there on your computers and bitching on usaviation. you gotta go out there and do something about it. this airline needs to change . it needs to get better for our employees and customers alike . i can't stress that enough. if you feel that there is no hope for this airline then i am sorry but i can't let that sorry ass excuse be my guide. we have wonderful great employees here at usairways (well maybe not at terminal F in phl) just kidding. i must admit i have lost alot of pride in this airline these past months. i want to get it back though and i am sure many of you do as well.

No amount of posting is going to convince the westies that have worked under SShamblin for as long as we have that she cares. The woman lacks integrity along with the basic skill set that one would expect a VP of Inflight to have. I have worked with her in close situations for years and trust me she doesn't give a d**n about what we all really think or need. She is in survival mode. Bular is on her case because of all the crap going on in inflight. Hence, the Focus group. It is an attempt to show her bosses she is working on fixing the problems. This is the same woman that looked Doug and Scott directly in the face 4 MONTHS AGO and said the catering issues were completely under control. That she "has worked closely with catering to take care of the problems" Right, sure they are. I guess I'm the only one who is still consistently under catered with BOB meals not to mention other basic items that are missing from my carts daily.

My guess is that this time next year we may very well have a new VP of Inflight. We on the west are tired of Ms. Shambles ineptness.
We all want to take pride in the company we work for, but Sherri won't be leading the reformation. I would love her to prove me wrong, but it's highly unlikely. Sorry.

Sherri Shambles HATES Flight Attendants. Plain and simple. I know this firsthand from past meetings that I have attended with her throughout the years. When she was promoted to VP of Inflight I was in disbelief because of her total disdain and lack of respect for our work group.

I sincerely hope that progress is made with this Focus Group. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst! Past experience working with Ms. Shambles has found all of our suggestions and critcal feedback usually falling upon deaf ears.

In time, our colleagues on the East will hopefully see right through her false promises and faked interest for what she really is.
 
i think your right cactus flyer. i think she was approached by bular to start doing something to fix the problems in inflight . that might be the case i don't know but at least something is being done. wether it's bular or sherri i don't know but there is some shaking going on in inlfight .

bottom line is that there is a focus group and we are there to try ot make things better. if you don't like sherri that's one thing but the f/a's in the group have done nothing wrong so please show them your respect as we will to our fellow f/a's . we are not the bad guys . the group was formed to fix the problems in inlfight . we are on your side but we have to work with management in order to get the tools we need to make it better.
 
and hpjack , maybe your right . maybe i do not have a clue. i havent worked with sherri long enough to pass judgment on her. you obviously have and your experience hasn't been a good one. so you are well entitled to your opinion. if i see that this focus group is going nowhere and that sherri is not working with us trust me i will be the first to back out. it's early in this thing so i can't pass judgement yet. beleive me i have some doubts. but i trust the other f/a who are in this group and they are good people who are vocal and i think that we will do a good job in fixing the problem. if you guys do not trust sherri then at least trust the f/a's in this group.

etops1...I know that you have a unwaivering desire to make things right at this airline. Not only for your fellow flight attendants and customers, but for yourself, too. That is the kind of person that you are and there is not doubt of that in my mind. I am the same way in many respects. I take a personal pride in my job and my airline and do everything I can with what little I am provided.

I just wish this group had the power to oust Sherri. Trust me when I say that she has been nothing but toxic for our workgroup - first at America West where I first encountered her - and now with US Airways. We need someone to take the helm and make things right....right now!! If Bular is indeed shaking up Inflight Services then we can only hope that Sherri will be shaken right out of her position.
 
All we are saying is this is window dressing man. They have tried these so called "camps" many times. Nothing is ever done. Don't get your hopes set high. I have a lot of respect for everyone in attendance. More so for FA's who are going to speak their mind out loud and not kiss Tutu. It needs to be clear, we need changes and we need them now. I have faith in my east counterparts because you do speak your mind. We have been promised change over and over... DELIVERY FAILED. Take what Cactus and 903 said to heart, cause thats how it really is.
 
i will guys and thanks for the input. trust me i ain't blind. and my hope aren't set high . i am still skeptical. (and so are the others)but we are coming into this with an open mind .

Stop protecing your positions! you all need to focus on the most important issues at hand. USAirways reimbursing passengers when their International flights are cancelled with funds from a CLOSED account. That is beyond inexcusable. We need professional interaction with all facets of employees . Accountability from the top down when you violate a fellow passenger ,employee you need to hear about it. This Adminisration is content with mediocre
Flights, meals ,planes, inflight- Hell we all carry dead wood. Just look the other way and allow your fellow crew members to get away with murder. There are individuals who are allowed to stock vacation days not fly and when was the last time you heard from the MEC? Is Buddy B still in Pittsburgh? What are these guys doing? Is this the Love Boat made for 4? MF BB DM CA? Yes I wanted this new administration to have some credability unfortunately they came to work with trying to spin a story instead of doing their homework. Why do I encounter a 1 hour delay only to have 2 supervisors who do not have the communication skills of a goat? I am tired of making excuses for management but the sword will cut both ways. ANd if you all think that the world operates with the packs that travel amongst our work force it can only be a matter of time. What are the leaders of the Company thinking when they send an supervisor into a briefing room to state they would like more feed-back on the Blue Atlas Drawers? There is not a MORON who does not understand the problem with crushed hands and doors that will not close. Take these blue trays to Phoenix and start a bonfire with them and I will bring the marshmellows ---Losers............
