At O'Hare airport on one of the moving sidewalks there are neon lights and space age music as you go along the sidewalks. The music and lights go in a pattern.
Do any of you know what this is called and if there is a web site that tells more about it ? I could look it up myself if I knew what it was called.

I think you are talking about the moving sidewalk under the apron linking B and C -- United's terminal. The music is a very modified, but still recognizable, version of UA's theme tune -- Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue

Obnoxious is an understatement. From the time you start at either the "B" or "C" Concourse side and walk to the other end, you've been forced to hear "the moving walkway is ending..." about 500 times.

I have only been on the walkway one time but I can understand what you are saying if you go on it over and over.
What I was looking for is who did the art work and colors on the neon lights overhead and what the whole project was called. (besides incredibly obnoxious ). 🙄

The neon/music artwork is entitled "The Sky's the Limit" by Micheal Hayden. I actually like it. It is the world's largest neon sculpture. Very cool, but it is fouled by the obnoxious "The walkway is ending, Look Down" recordings. Darned lawyers. It's their fault. Imagine the lawsuit if those warnings weren't there and someone fell.

Thank you again FWAAA. I have been trying to get that information for years.
Also thank you for your reply on my idea to merge with oil companies.
Perhaps airlines are doomed to join bus companies and amtrack in the future. Should not be that way but I don't have an answer.

And it's REALLY COOL when you're walking through it for the first time, and you're still kinda stoned.

Not that I know anything about that, since college was a long time ago, and I have this unexplained memory loss...

Agreed -- couldn't they at least turn down that horrible "walkway is ending" announcement. It absolutely blares out and ruins the whole effect.
