When we were building our house in Vegas we found beer cans all over the place! When we took a wall down to expand a room we found beer cans between the dry wall...and this was back in 1989! If you want to move out west the only people that are going to build you a nice house is the Mormons. Yeah, Utah! Who knew!! IMHO, Southern Utah is the only place I'd move back west to.

singh4us, CLT is quite nice. I live in PIT and at one point was looking at transferring there. My old lady and I decided against it because we discovered CLT has a huge traffic problem and at the time the schools weren't that good. Good news is the schools are better, bad news, traffic is still bad. Such is the tradeoff for living in a growing area.

Oh lordy, you should try living in PHX!!! Makes me thankful for not having to work anything that requires me to be on the road in rush hour.
 
I just sold my home for 315K to an investor. 1870 sq ft. Waterfront. Great Bass Fishing. Bought it four years ago almost to the day for 190K. Housing prices have gone thru the roof literally.

Live 22 miles from Sky Harbor. Takes me 25 minutes in the morning.....1 hour in the afternoon. The afternoon drive stinks. It's really bewildering how the tunnel is such a magnetic for accidents. Less than 1 mile stretch and that's where 90 percent of the accidents are on the 22 miles to/from work.

Put some crosses and saints in all the rooms, cook some pierogies, and count each day as a blessing. Spread around some knick-knacks around the house of ducks, cows... That is a HOME. THAT is living.
 
Cute, but it's that whole snow thing!!! Someone like me would NEVER survive in PIT- CLT would be cold enough.
