Company Match

Oh give me a break Vort. You didn’t step in to this gig as any first round draft pick college superstar. You filled out an application and either knew someone or hit the jackpot Lucky and got picked.

Hey maybe Warren Buffett and Jeff Bezzo’s Private Jet AMT’s make more than you too. Why don’t you compare yourself to them too while you’re at it?

That's where you're wrong. Two years at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University: AMT training with Associate degree, 7 years Air National Guard, and 3 years at an FBO as an AMT. So; at the time, I had paid my dues as far as AA's experience requirement required. I didn't live anywhere near an AA base or hub to simply fill out an application, as you put it. I sent out Resume's to the companies I was interested in working for. I waited for call backs and was flown out to many interviews in the process. I didn't have any connections, or hit the jackpot!

Why I'm debating this topic with a baggage handler is humorous considering you're the one who is working at AA only because they called you back before Burger King did.

Don't assume you know everything, you're way off base on this.

Here we go, more charts and graphs! o_O

Couldn't agree more. Digs up some generic charts that I have never seen the company use - for any work group! As if to say, hey you guys make enough, check this out. Why doesn't he try that logic with the pilots? I can hear it now " hey Mr 777 captain, I think you are way overpaid. Checkout these government charts on pilot pay!" Well, he won't do it, cause he knows he will get his stool pushed in.

Wow you seem to be getting a little touchy here. I apologize as I never realize how “special” you really are. You’re a regular Johnny Bench and Reggie Jackson rolled into one.

Maybe you should take up the nickname “Joe Fabulous”

Again NEVER said you make enough or shouldn’t go for as much as you can get.

For all the education you received you still seem to have reading comprehension issues or maybe you’re a little insecure about your own particular market value actually? You tell me?

Wow, good comeback! You get called out on you assertion that I won the lotto or knew somebody to get me hired, and now who is getting defensive? Back with the name calling, as if to diminish an AMT's efforts as worthless. God forbid, an AMT points out what they had to do for qualifications, or education; only to have, guys like you accuse them of being an elitist, or somehow arrogant.

You only reinforce why AMTs gain nothing by negotiating with people like you, as it evident your attitude on the topic is most likely echoed by any and all FCS negotiators.

No, I would submit that it is you that suffers from insecurity.

Hey I’ll gladly check out whatever charts or graphs you got that can tell me how dramatically underpaid you are compared to the average US AMT.

Tick Tock?

So you do consider me just an average A&P. That's what I thought.

What got ya going, the Burger King comment? :D

I’m sorry. Maybe my insecurity stems from the knowledge deep down that I just wasn’t good enough to get on the Burger King Burger Flipping team. My whole family had to move out of the neighborhood due to the shame my failure brought down on them.

We were all banished to Florida man, Florida. Do you know how terrible it is living here?

So you do consider me just an average A&P. That's what I thought.

Don’t know what you are as an AMT Rogs? You got any of those Super Duper AMT industry tin cup awards sitting on a shelf in your garage?

Actually never worked in a Fast Food place myself. I did the Key Food Supermarket gig stealing Rump Roasts every other week in a bag under my dirty ties that needed washing. (We also got loaded in the basement sometimes too)

Actually I wasn’t very good around people when I was younger.

you pathetic bag smasher

....... jeesh......

I know some of you don't like being in a UNION with FSC's but is insulting working people really necessary?

I don't like being called a bag smasher, especially since I worked at TULE (no bags there). I would also like to point out we had 4 people in my department with A&P's

I am not my job. Let's remember jobs are transient. Sometimes even careers.

I may have been a bag smasher as you call it but I have also been a dishwasher, a sacker at a grocery store, a cashier, a cook at a pizzeria, a warehouse worker, an electrician, an airline ticket auditor, help desk for a major PC manufacturer, and a computer network specialist.

I would classify electrician as a skilled job and computer networking as a professional job.

Just because people choose to "smash bags" for a living does not mean they are incapable of doing anything else besides fast food.......

Can we be a bit more civil to each other or at least a bit more focused on goals.

Insulting and tearing down your coworkers is counterproductive. Focus your energies on your goals, anything else is just white noise.

Pot meet kettle smh.

Pot meet kettle smh.
Oh?

It's easy to say pot meet kettle it's another thing entirely to prove your comment has any validity. If you are going to accuse me of being a hypocrite provide proof.

Besides the retort of calling Timid Weak Union and overpaid grease monkey due to his "bag smasher" comment can you show me an instance of me insulting mechanics?

Frankly I regret that comment but I am getting tired of the negativity and elitism. It is a minority engaging in that behavior but negativity tends to spread. Insulting Fleet because people are upset at the results of your (not you specifically but AA mechanics) representation is counter productive. Ever hear the term "poisoning the well". That is all comments like "bag smasher" are good for. It accomplishes nothing besides alienating people.

I didn't say "Bag Smasher" in my post. Weasles took the low road with his lame charts, and backhanded insults. I simply refuted his assertions, and pointed out the irony of one statements with the Burger King example. I harbor no personal animus towards any other work groups. So, before you play the victim card, please consider these facts.
