Company Proposal M&R 11-13-2010

One thing I CAN say, Bob - I'm tired of the company's insults.

They can go to hell.

I hope every mechanic goes to work and shows just how happy they are with this insult of a contract.

What a slap in the face by this AArogant management.

And the TWU will allow this to continue for at least another year.

I read the proposal and discussed it with others at work. I asked were is the increase in our base pay? There was none to be found. A bonus here and there with a few more holidays and double time for holidays. The double time for holiday is a cost saver for the company. The sick time on holidays cost the company more than us working them for time and a half pay. so they upped the pay to double time and added three more holidays. The full sick time was a disaster to the company. Full sick pay proposal was a no brainer from the company. Nothing about restoring our one week vacation we gave up. They were nice about the profit sharing plan payout. Yet they want to eliminate the retirement medical from active and retired employees. I was surprised that no mention of OSM's at line stations, unless they worded it in a different way. I see negotiations going nowhere for now. I hope that our sucka$$ negotiators do not agree on binding arbitration. If this happens, again we will be at the losing end worse than ever. No pay raise in a four year deal is unacceptable! Since May of 2003 we only had two increases in pay. total of 3%. To go another four years without a pay increase is just ludicrous. We are looking at 11 years with only a 3% pay increase. Are you kidding me??????

My strong recommendation is a NO vote with a NO Confidence vote for our negotiators!!

Just wait until the pro company ilks here tell us how lucky we are to have a job!

They're rather lucky themselves in that a relatively civilized society doesn't allow arrogance to be dealt with in an appropriate manner.

Only AA would have the audacity to make this kind of proposal, knowing their toy union is powerless to make meaningful response. The lump sum method saves the company $11,856 for an AMT over the life of the contract. Instead of $35.54 an hour at the end of the contract, we're still at $32.20. What will end their tenatous hold on "permanent wage cuts" won in the 03' debacle? I KNOW THE ANSWER!

AND NO MENTION OF RETRO

so where's the accountablity?

Shove this up Hortons Ass..

The question is: Will this finally wake up all the Koolaid drinkers @ 514?
I heard some comments from a few people last pm that surprised me - assuming they don't change their minds, I believe it has been a wakeup call.

It's probably a ploy to force an impasse being declared and a job action which would allow Horton to get rid of maintenance as he stated he'd like to do.

Used to be a great company but ... let it die.

Another problem is that the companys charts are way off, first off it lists base wages not full max up. SWA tops out at around $45, not $36, AirTran is making $40 as well ($37 plus $3 license) not $31.

Not only does the company put out inconsistent and mislabeled graphs (comparing page 7 of the proposal with the alleged October 2009 numbers on aa.negotiations.com), you introduce yet a third set of numbers. WN mechanics actually top out at "around $45?" That's $93,600 a year. According to AA, WN mechanics top out at $41:

If true, that means WN wrenches make $24,400 more per year than you.

You guys need a new union.

I guess it's probably inconceivable to many of you that AAR simply provided better service? They've been doing DOD overhauls for years, so I can't wait to hear y'all call them a chop shop, too...

I'm told Danny Martinez is working for AAR now -- maybe he had a good enough relationship with Allegiant they were willing to give AAR a shot at their business.
Or maybe it could be Allegiant was put off when AA said they had "insufficient capacity" to do all the proposed work. Then a month later AA announced the closing of MCIE. By the way DOD work goes to the lowest bidder, doesn't it.
Hardly a ringing endorsement

The bottom line is AMR has torpedoed every attempt at outside work - they have no intention of allowing money to be made and what was made was accounted for incorrectly.

If money was actually made, the corporate trash may have to give a bit to the workers.

Question - has any airline ever been run like a real business?

AA lies.
Its actually higher than $45;
These figures are from the SWA contract, Articles 14 and 15

Mechanic 8/16/2012
Base pay 38.59
License pay 6.00 * thats for three if required
Shift .63
Long 1.30
Total $46.52

Now if you want to compare top rates you would have to go with SWA Lead Inspector pay

Base 43.22
License pay 6.00 * thats for three if required
Shift .63
Long 1.30
Total $51.15

Regular inspector or Mechanic lead base is $40.91 on 8/16/2012

Lets compare and see what AA means by "competative"

8/16/2012
SWA vs AA Proposal
Mechanic $46.52 vs 33.25

$13.27/hr difference. $27,600 less than a low cost carrier! That looks more like a slaughter than a competition to me.
