These people would be crazy to think that their management is just bluffing. All anyone has to do is read the papers to see whats happening with the industry.

With so little activity on the CO board. Does anyone really believe all 9 over night were real CO employees, who just happened by?

My friend who is a 20+year f/a with CO told me she is voting for the concessions. She didn't see what the big deal is. Top of scale, it's going to cost her about $300/mo. She's not wild about it, but feels the company has done everything else they could before asking for concessions. After all, this is the first time since 9/11 that the co has asked anything of the employees.

She heard through the grapevine that if the concessions are not approved it will mean the furlough of at least 2000 f/as.

Continental is still hiring regular flight attendants. These are not replacement workers. If they decide to furlough say 2000 f/a's, then some of the junior f/a's will be saved with all the new hires. So, if I was a f/a at CO I would be saying "hire more!"

Why not? Everyone has a choice.

The non-union employees did NOT have a choice, thats why we lost the most in the concessions.

Then you need to fire your "Agent Council". Get someone who will fight for you if you think you lost the most in the concessions.

They had a choice and voted it down, and they certainly wouldn't want to have AMFA. These boys are trying to make a statement and are going to end up like Eastern.........Out of work permanently.

Unless of course they get the TWU!

Wisely they rejected the TWU a short time ago.

Well they had the opportunity to vote in the company friendly TWU. For two hours gross pay per month the TWU would have gotten them nothing but the opportunity to but some LTD or STD insurance from the company where Sonny Halls son used to work.

The mechanics on the other hand are union, Teamsters and from what I've heard and read some over there are trying to oust them and bring in AMFA.

What I dont understand is why an Industrial union like the Teamsters would not challenge the TWU at Continental since the Teamsters are already on the property. Isnt the strategy of Industrial unionism to get everyone in the company under the same union? How can you orchestrate an Industrial union strategy when the workers are divided up between two industrial unions on the same property? What they would have is a craft union structure with industrial unions.!!?? Oh well, whatever brings in the revenue I guess!
