You've now got states who are charging extra taxes on fast food (with the weak argument that it will curb obesity), and others who are literally looking to tax the obese.
There are people who want sin taxes on gas guzzlers. And let's not forget the taxes which already are levied on estates, bonuses, or winning the lottery or at the slot machines in Vegas...

My comment was satire, but it wouldn't surprise me either to see something like that actually happen. Already, you've got taxes on landlines which go to fund phone services for those who can't afford it. Why not extend that to cell phones? After all, isn't it a God given right for the poor to be able to text and drive or ride the bus (or while sitting on the couch watching Oprah using their government subsidized HD converter?...)
