What's new

Dash8-400 available immediately

Gosh, while we're all experts on the subject... I just flew one that was built in '98. What the hell do I know, though? I just kinda... operated it. Whatever. Looking backward from Shuttle America today, you get......

nothing but facts in the way.
Sounds like airfleets.net needs to update their list. It shows N335EN as the newest 300 in the fleet with an original delivery date of January 6, 1994.

Again, I don't claim much. I just looked at the AC, during a preflight. It makes sense that is was made airworthy in 98, and was assembled some time prior. I have no idea how that works... just what the cert says on the flight deck. Those numbers are most likely worthless.

Don't have my manuals at home, but the build date on all the aircraft on the Piedmont certificate is listed in section D of the ops specs. Curiosity will have me checking it out when I get back to slavery... err.... I mean work.

I think WSurf is saying that PDT's fleet is made up of 25 year old technology, not that each plane is 25 years old.

N906HA came off the assembly line in 1985. Airworthiness certificate issued 4/85. Built with early 80's technology. The plane itself is 22+ years old. Without checking each & every aircraft I think we can say that most of the fleet was built in the late 80's or early 90's.
