Debate III.

You forgot to add the millions lost, that was given to , now defunct, Green Energy company's..........................just want to make sure we include everyone !

Try harder.

hy don't you tally up the cost overruns from the F-35 program, the LCS program, the F-22 program, the ACU program, Congress adding money the DOD did not ask for. Along with the billions spent on Iraq and tell me what is more. Of course people like you become deaf mutes when those subjects come up. If the subject of Solyndra comes up, look out!

We can't protect ourselves form teh Chinese? Says who? Can the Chinese park a couple CBG off the coast and strike costal targets? Can they send a bomber undetected and bomb our cities at will? No they cannot but we sure as hell can do it to them. Another thing, if there ever was a shotting war between the USA and China we would have a lot bigger things to worry about.

No, they can't park a CBG off California. They don't need to.

But, they are more than equipped to launch an assault on Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and eventually Australia. Essentially a repeat of what happened in the 1940's... They've got more amphibious assault craft (>300) than we have ships in our entire Navy, and that's just what we know about...

Excellent point. I believe if they cross our path in the future it won't be a cakewalk. Some college group found hard evidence of heavy delivery systems squirreled away in a very sophisticated group of mountain cave systems. Who knows what else they have. Remember the fast attack sub that popped up undetected in the middle of one of our CBG and said 'hey now'? Little statement?
What else have they done over the past 60 years that our slacker intel outfits missed?

Somebody has been reading TOm Clancy novels. 😉

Most of those amphibs are landing craft. The USN has a lot of landing craft as well. They're just no figured into the number of ships the Navy has since they are not ships. They are just large, ugly boats used to move Marines around.
