it's just a move to put US on the defensive so they don't have time to think about AA - and might have the collateral benefit of helping LCC's BOD recognize that US is undervalued due to its current management team and strategy and that if US had new mgmt that was more interested in acting like a real airline (paying its people decent wages), the stock value would go up.If it's anything I would call it a bluff to see if Delta can force American to merge up with USAirways.

A DL-US deal has far less chance of winning DOJ approval than a DL-AA merger would.
Most plausible decription so far.Nothing more than a ploy to muddy the waters should US & AA get serious.
I agree.... DL and US can play that game. Leave AA to do it's own thing. Lower costs, buy 500 jets and grow ....... NEW HIRES NEW HIRES!!I'd rather be Delta than American....
