Yes; by all means. "Shrink to Profitability"; retreat back behind your MA/NY/PA Maginot Line. Worked for you all through the 90's & 2000's didn't it? I mean you only lost FIVE BILLION DOLLARS with this strategy.
 
I wish we would have a management cleanup. Travis Christ would be a great start. Actaully lets get rid of the whole marketing department who seems to control this company with ridiculous decisions!

I can't remember ever seeing any advertisements for US....

Why advertise....that would be cutting into Darth's beer fund.
 
Why are they calling back f/a's when it is obvious that major furloughs are on there way? Come on it is obvious that they will be parking the 737 fleet. So why call back these people only to lay them off again.
 
I have a sneaky spidey suspicion that if the sandcastle offered a severance package to some of the more senior people , most of them wouldn't be crying, they'd be snatching it and running !

Most people seem to be at the just "kill me now and get it over with stage"....senior emps will just get severance, new hires could get the axe and it'll be left to us in the middle to try not to vomit as the ship rolls back and forth and threatens to capsize...

Who makes out better? The longtime emps who take the bennies and run? The new hires who never experienced the good times in the industry (no addiciton) or the ones who continue to hang on because its in our blood ?

And as far as the crews, how would layoffs be conducted especially since the seniority thing was never
resolved..

For the right amount of severance I think there are lots of senior folks that can be bought. That being said the "early out" that Tempe offered the FA's when we signed our first (and only) contract was a joke. Something like maybe 1,000.00 or so. I may be wrong on the amount and if so, I'm sure someone will correct me.

There are many west FA's that would jump to take an early out with some decent cash attached or to take a leave for a few months. I guess we just have to wait at see what the clowns in Tempe decide to do, but there are definitely some changes to come.

didn't they try this already? and it was woefully undersubscribed by f/as.

first of all, parker and the gang are far too cheap to assemble an attractive separation package. secondly, they are so shortsighted, that the long term financial improvements of skimming off the most senior, would never even appear on their radar screen.

this goof ball management team WON'T even pay YOU industry standard wages for performing work...


what makes anyone think they will pay you to go away. the last buy-out we had was a major joke and that was with different management..

For Godsakes they can't even the the P/S checks right the first time so a severance package is WAY over the college crowds head
