Delta reports 2009 loss of $1.0 billion excluding special items

For the quarter, DL lost $225 million, excluding special items. For the full year, the loss was $1.0 billion excluding special items. Delta's press release noted that if the fuel hedging losses had been excluded, then DL reported a net income for 2009 of almost $300 million.
