Delta's Theft of Funds

Let's see now - who has failed to keep their airplanes on the airport property not once but twice in the past 5 years, now killing people and destroying aircraft? Hint - it ain't Delta. I'm sure many of us would agree that WN's capacity reduction strategy is working just fine.

And you do realize that WN would not have been profitable any quarter this year were it not for their fuel hedges?

You may be intending to do so, but your comment gives me the distinct impression, that your are deriving some degree of satisfaction from a tragedy surrounding the death of a six year old boy. That's not healthy!!!

your impression is uneqivocally wrong. See the WN forum for a complete discussion.

Well, I might say Ch. 12 already made a pretty good point.

I might say that your marine would be up for court marshal. The military has a policy of self sacrifice for the betterment of the whole.
E.g. “Marine. Take that hill!â€￾
“Nope, we aren’t going to do it because some of us might get hurt, and if you tell me to again I’ll have to shoot YOU.â€￾

I might point out that the industry has changed and that the legacies have to change too. Sacrifices must be made by all in the short term to ensure the future survival of the company. That under current conditions, for DALPA to be "at WAR with DLâ€￾ sounds a lot like a three-year-old lashing out at its mother because the convenience store is out of lollypops.

But instead I think I’ll take heed of what Thomas Paine had to say about arguing with someone who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and decline comment. For now, this does appear to be the most prudent response; especially in light of recent progress in negotiations.

Merry Christmas!

After five promotions, I am currently working for roughly what I made in 1986. Inflation corrected it works out to about what I made in 1981. And you?

I probably would be if I were flying. But I looked at the pay scale and saw I could do much better. Maybe you should do the same, then you won't have to spend all your time blaming someone else for your problems.

Me?! I'm not blaming anyone for my situation. 30+ years ago I chose an industry that was in a lot different condition than it is now. And I have been casually looking around and have seen several tempting prospects. But, I am currently unwilling to move the family unless forced to, and after running the numbers I find it would be foolish to make any changes before September.
So, what's your story? What do you do besides toss around challenges you aren't willing to participate in at people you know nothing about?

MMB,
"Especially in light of recent progress in negotiations"

Do YOU have ANY doubt, that the reason DL did NOT break DALPA's Contract,
OR
The fact that DL did NOT get $325 million from the pilots
Was because of the UNION (ALPA) ????????????

If your answer to the question is "NO", then your PRUDENT RESPONSE, is (well) A PRUDENT RESPONSE, Given the fact that DL's pilots had/have an ongoing negotiation with DL, that is SEPERATE and PRIVATE, and NOTHING whatsoever to do with ANY OTHER of DL's 48,000 employees, be it beneficial, or Disasterous !!!!!!!!

NH/BB's

PS,

MMB, I'm SURE that you voted YES for union representation, when ever you had the chance, so as to have a bargaining agent to keep greedy DL from "going after $$$ your workgroup" ???????
