Several articles have mentioned Delta's intention to provide wi-fi internet on its fleet of planes beginning in 2009 and that it will be installed on an aircraft overnight. How can all this hardware be installed in one day? Is anyone at Delta installing these now?

almost all the required equipment is on aircrafts that have tv's already.
So the aircraft with tv's are the overnight jobs. Doesn't Delta have md-80's?
I belive they are saying that it can be installed overnight on any a/c.
with the MD-88's installation first. I think its just a matter of installing
a "box" that would transmit signals so everyone can get a Wifi signal.
you don't need video eqpt. last heard, there is an MD-88 flying
around as a test bed for FAA approval.
