Programme changes within the context of the integration of the Swiss Travel Club.
As of 1st April this year, Miles & More will become the new frequent flyer programme of SWISS International Airlines. Customers of SWISS will then be able to collect and redeem their miles with Miles & More. Within the context of the integration, several changes will be made to the Miles & More programme.
“With the further, market-overlapping adjustment of the programme conditions, the position of Miles & More as the leading frequent flyer programme in Europe will be taken into accountâ€, says Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President Marketing & Sales at Lufthansa German Airlines.
Miles for the attainment of status in Germany lowered: In future, Miles & More participants who are resident in Germany will be able to enjoy status advantages even faster. They will already be given Frequent Traveller status with 35,000 status miles and will qualify for Senator status with 130,000 status miles. Thus, the number of miles for the status attainment has been adjusted to the international level. Abroad, participants require 35,000 status miles for the attainment of the Frequent Traveller status and 100,000 status miles for Senator status. A qualification through the number of flights will no longer exist in future. The number of collected status miles will be decisive.
Introduction of flight bonus for children: Children aged between two and eleven years will fly particularly inexpensively as of April. For a bonus ticket of a child only 75 percent of the required miles will be charged. Lufthansa is thus further extending its offer for children. With JetFriends, the Lufthansa club for children and teenagers, young customers have already been receiving extensive information about the world of Lufthansa via the Internet since March last year.
