Disaster At TAESL test cell

The test cell at TAESl was rendered useless yesterday after the bird screen suffered a structual failure due to icing up during a test run and collasped striking the bellmouth of the trent 800 that was running and taking a large chunk out of the 6 o'clock position of the bellmouth. Unknown as to weather he trent suffered damage but it may have ingested debris from the bird screen when it collasped.Updates to follow.

Just heard the test cell will be down approx 4 weeks for repairs then needs to be recalibrated for airflow.

<_< ----- How many large test cells do you have? We've got one here that I believe could handel it, but would need just as much, if not more work, to get it it up and running. ------- We used it to test our old JT9's, and RB211 engines. I believe it's rated at a max of 100,000 Lbs. thrust?

THANKS for sending ANOTHER Oklahoma grown STORM, to MCI, and ME.

I just got back from the supermarket, that was fuuking JAMMED PACKED, to get the "grub" into my casa, just hours before the NOR-EASTA !!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I stayed in the car while my Ol' Lady put up with all the crowds.
I Put the seat all the way back, heater running, and took a snooze, until she came back out.

(I did get out, and loaded up the trunk though)

(Should be fun to watch the Patriots and Jets play football in a howling snow/Ice storm tomorrow, while my FAT A$$ is in front of the wood stove, sitting in my skivvy's) 🙄
