Disaster At TAESL test cell

You heard incorrectly
Really, so how long is it going to replace the entire bird screen structure and then recalibrate the cell for airflow. The really intresting part about the damage to the bird screen is it exposed the mounting points after it sheared off. Looks like thay used four anchors at the top and only two on the bottom no wonder why AFW came in 40 million under budget while it was built. I still say 4 weeks and we are currently into week one by a couple of days.

In the AFW hangar, the foundation and walls are cracking between bays 1 and 2. In fact, it looks like bay 1 is sinking into the ground. I wonder how long it will be before the city of Fort Worth condemns that end of the hangar for demolition?

So far the project to get the system back up is on track. As I undersatnd it, the system should be up and running very soon...certainly in much less time than you have speculated.

I'm not in the loop...but I'm guessing before Xmas...

As for speculations about design faults causing the failure...I'm a mechanic...not an engineer,,,Are you?

"..The foundation and walls are cracking.."

Statement of fact or an attempt to speculate with an air of authority?

Is the foundation actually cracking? If so, on what do you base your assertion?

Reality check...

Are the walls cracking?

Answer: Yes

Are they load-bearing walls?

Answer: No

is there a safety issue?

Answer: No

This issue was researched in depth...

Try talking to someone who was a member of the Facilities Maintenance ALT. They might be able to tell you why the problem surfaced...This issue was discussed at length...Bottom line: No condemnation will be forthcoming anytime soon....

The problem has been identified, assessed, and a solution has been introduced.

All you got to do is look at the floors and walls, dumbass. If that one wall is allowed to continue cracking,it will probably collapse on somebody, killing them. If that isn't a safety issue, I don't know what is.

Maybe MAtt will stand tall and give it a tongue lashing and that will stop the cracking from expanding.

You know one of those letters full of hate and knot logic.

Wrigley Field has been cracking and crumbling for years...nobody has died.

If your not in the loop how can you make assumptions about the length of the project?

You seem to be in the know about all the problems espically the hanger as well. Looks like a management personell to me.

And yes I happen to know a bit about engineering!!

I here a load of steel for the test cell arrived today at AFW. It doesn’t look like there playing around getting it back up and running.

There was a report up on Local 567's website...I assume you've read it by now.

As for the hangar...Old news.

Me management? LOL

1 week down already, im sayin it wont be ready til jan 20 08 any one else wanna guess?

Test cell could very well be up and running soon as they were placing engines on the test mounts.

So..Is the test cell up and running? Curious minds want to know. If so, when did it go back on-line and how does that square with the mid=January prediction?
