Another update from Kip:
"Season of hope - As I was walking out of Lindbergh Terminal in MSP after having been fired, I was not thinking this would be a season of hope for me. My mind was focused on my personal circumstances and my family.
In the weeks since then I have experienced a tidal wave of support, of union solidarity and of human solidarity. So many of my coworkers on the ramp, ticket counter and from In Flight have kept me in the game. The union movement of Minnesota and beyond has my back in a major way.
In stations across the country our union card count is going up. More people are joining the effort. According to flight attendant leaders, who have become my close friends, that group is seeing union cards flowing into IAM Headquarters. They are poised to file for a union representation election. Airport workers at Airserve, DGS, OTG and other employers just won 8 paid sick days per year from the Metropolitan Airport Commission. Next step - a $15/hour minimum wage for every worker at MSP.
These forward steps are the fruit of the labor of thousands of workers who have decided to raise their voices. If Delta's intention was to chill the atmosphere for workers' rights by firing me, precisely the opposite has occurred. For me this is a season of hope."
