What a freakin train wreck. This whole dog and pony show is another waste of taxpayer money and just blew up in the Obama's, Dodd's and Geithners face.

(CNN) -- Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd told CNN Wednesday that he was responsible for language added to the federal stimulus bill to make sure that already-existing contracts for bonuses at companies receiving federal bailout money were honored.

and it gets even better...

Dodd acknowledged his role in the change after a Treasury Department official told CNN the administration pushed for the language.

Whos the still solo "Treasury Department official"? Timothy Geithner

What a complete clown show.

Bears?? Dodd admitted his role. Is he lying?? CNN said so, so it must be true.

Huffnpuff post is going to blame Bush for anything they can, regardless if it's true or not.

They're calling for Dodd's resignation on some blogs already. Either he falls on his sword now, or in 2010. His Republican opponant was polling even with Dodd before this story broke. Now Dodd is toast... So is Geithner.

If this goes on any longer, it really will be Obama's Katrina....

It gets even better!

As the late Paul Harvey use to say;

"NOW you have the REST of the STORY" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry dapoes/dell.

Nice try though.

Before you wet your britches, remember this is the same useless blog that is being creamed by the right. Sos much so that they are now whining like little babies to have some kind of "Fairness Doctrine" over the net.

In today's Huffington Post is Joseph A. Palermo's "Cheney, Rove, and Fleischer and the Importance of Net Neutrality." Net neutrality, you see, is yet another way the Left hopes to silence their opposition -- and Palermo calls on Obama's Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to do exactly that. 😛 😛 😛

I guess he gets partial credit for honesty. And if this latest example of the Left's rush to suppression
via Obama's FCC makes you think of the old Censorship Doctrine or any of the new ones -- "localism," "diversity in media ownership" and serving the "public interest" -- well, it should. :mf_boff: :mf_boff: :mf_boff:

E,
I'm not naive to think that this admission couldn't cost Dodd his seat, but TRUST me, their are at least 2 "D" congress people who would beat any CT. Repug.
The strongest being a Woman ..Rosa DeLauro.

Deleted by me. My apologies, Dapoes. However, based on the fact that your original post was yesterday, you did in fact change what Dodd was saying at the time.

What is this world coming to when you can't trust a politician?

Dodd just admitted on CNN that he inserted a loophole in the stimulus legislation that allowed million-dollar bonuses to insurance giant AIG to go forward – after previously denying any involvement in writing the controversial provision. .

Article

UPDATE: Dodd put out the following statement this evening:

“I’m the one who has led the fight against excessive executive compensation, often over the objections of many. I did not want to make any changes to my original Senate-passed amendment but I did so at the request of Administration officials, who gave us no indication that this was in any way related to AIG. Let me be clear – I was completely unaware of these AIG bonuses until I learned of them last week.

Up for re-election in the cover my butt mode......

Didn't relate to AIG at the time but he put it in there..........................

Fanny,Freddy,Barney and me...

Hey Jimntx..... :cop:

Tell me Dapoes, did you used to write Iraq War justifications for Shrub and Darth Cheney?

This is getting better by the moment.

Looks like Chrissy is taking Geithner down with him....

Dodd told FOX News that Treasury officials forced him to make the change.

Duh........

Now Chrissy takes Obama with him too....

Dodd Blames Obama Administration for Bonus Amendment (Update1)

Double duh.........

But, but, but, it's Bush, Cheney, and Paulson's fault... isn't it?....

The honeymoon is truly over, guys. Time for reality to set in. Choosing politicians is like choosing bubble bath. They all promise to change your life like a romance novel, but at the end of the day, they're all the same. It's nice and foamy at first, until you realize it's just air bubbles that eventually pop and go down the drain....

I realize the media put Obama in office.........but what they live for is ratings and viewers.Do you think if Obama begins to tank they will circle like sharks or continue to give him do?

What will happen is that the Obama team comes up with a distraction like the whole AIG bonus-dog and pony show. That whole event was to take Americas eye off the dismal job the administration is doing. Create a drama diversion to outrage the american public..."LOOK AT WHAT THOSE BANKERS ARE DOING AGAIN" blah blah blah.

Except it blew up in their face.
