Did anyone see Richard Branson's CNN interview? Now thats how you run an airline.

Just read his autobiography Losing My Virginity and you'll get a good picture of Branson. His philosophy on life and work is commendable. Welcome to usaviation.com.. Interesting you chose this to be your first post.

I have been reading this forum for a while and just thought it was time to get involved. Domestic carriers need to watch his latest creation Virgin America

Welcome Joe,

Saw it on CNN this Morning before work.
His employees are first and foremost. He feels that they are a reflection of his company
and takes care of them. If that is true, all domestics should take heed.

I think Branson also bought an island some where for his employees to vacation at.

Thanks redeye....Branson has a private island in the Caribbean and yes he does make it avaible for use by his employees on vacation.
Where is Parker's island and how do I make a reservation.

Branson also gives his Virgin Atlantic employees Christmas Day off and shuts the airline down for the day.

You know, that's a pretty lame blanket post there Bubba. You are making a glaring generalization about ALL of the union represented workers at US by saying that NO ONE trusts anyone.

Think before you post. While I will agree that there has been some bad blood shed over the last 7 years at US, not EVERYONE is in agreement with your uneducated rant. Believe it or not, US survived not one, but TWO bankruptcies, and in the process, a new foundation has been built which is designed to MAKE money, not prepetually LOSE money.

Now let me educate you, boy. Companies that MAKE money survive and eventually spread the wealth to the rank and file. Those that do NOT make money fold up and go away, along with all of the rank and file jobs.

It is a simple relationship that even the lowest form of human can understand, yet there seems to be a number of US union represented employees who don't understand this relationship. Let me ask you one question.... Would you rather have a job in a company that is making a profit, or one that is constantly teetering on the brink of closing? Sacrfices are sometimes necessary to reach a long term positive result, and I think the union employees at US are overlooking the long term opportunities that are being offered in the current contract negotiations.

Long term job security is MUCH more important that short term gain. Think about it.

Is it all inclusive.......can I pay for it using my Chrismas bonus..... Im sure it has to be BYOB

Lighten up SpinDoc......
It may be a generalization but, sadly, based on ever increasing fact!

Think about what you just said

IAM1776PHL must be one of the IAM who sat in on the bargaining that produce the TA that the majority of the rampers in Phl voted NO to.

I think he/she better get out of dodge, definately drinking the Kool-aid, definately looking to move up in the IAM rank and file. IAM1776PHL sold his/her members souls out to the devil! Take a hike!
