Huh? :eye:
I saw that clip too. He looked like a deer in head lights. He cannot even lie well any more. He knows damn well gas will hit $4. If he does not he ought to be impeached for being a dumb ass.

View attachment 7235I have also read that he would veto any rollback of tax breaks given to the oil industry. The tax breaks amount to 18 billion per year. He says he will veto it because it is unfair to raise tax revenue from just one industry.
Since when is it unfair to ask a profitable industry to start paying taxes again?
Hmmm....our demand isn't the only demand in the world...China seem to be wanting more and more for themselves. See..it's "competition"...if the Chinese are willing to pay $100 a barrel, but we say it "should" be $55 a barrel, then who do you think they are going to sell to? And of course...starting up drilling in the ANWR and implementing all those "new technologies" are going to cost money - nevermind that there ain't enough oil up there to meet our demands enough to cut the price per barrel in half from what it is. I guess Uncle Sam could subsidize the building of those new refineries or technologies. Of course, we could always just conserve and drive DOWN demand, but we're American's...we don't know what conservations is. If Uncle Sam is going to subsidize anything, I'd prefer to see them offer something to encourage SUGAR crop production (sugar cane, sugar beets) from which ethanol can be created much more efficiently than it can from corn. Then we don't have to pay more for food since the "ethanol corn" can go back to feeding humans and animals. What happened to the New Kids on the Block?
I thought they were going to fix the gas price thing when they took over...only thing I see is they have helped raise gas prices through taxation and now food prices with ethanol.
Oil should be around $55 a barrel give or take...stop the rampant speculation and fix the oil situation.
The oil companies could take a very small fraction of their profit and venture into some other research. But that would require prodding from a government who has been complacent, if not complicit, in the growth of this industry. They (large oil companies) are currently making about $1300 per second in profit.Hmmm....our demand isn't the only demand in the world...China seem to be wanting more and more for themselves. It must run in the family. His father could not even guess the price of milk and was amazed at the sight of a supermarket scanner.I saw that clip too. He looked like a deer in head lights. I am guessing you are joking about a return to slavery? If so, shame on you.Yea perhaps we can turn Africa into a sugar plantation....![]()
Source"Two potential crops have been identified for the fuel ethanol initiative in Nigeria: sugarcane and cassava. Nigeria is currently reputed to be the leading producer of cassava in the world of about 30 million tons annually," states Onochie Anyaoku, group general manager of NNPC's Renewables Division. "The potential must be seen against the background that the average yield in Nigeria is put at about 15 tons/hectare as compared to 25-30 tons/hectare obtainable in other countries. Moreover, cassava is most perceived as a food crop in Nigeria and not as an industrial crop, part of which the bio-fuel program is expected to radically change." A step-by-step approach is being followed with cassava to ensure that all technical and market issues are addressed comprehensively.
