Every time I hear this story or listen to the song I always get a chill up my spine. Not sure why. Not the biggest tragedy. Not a massive loss of life but significant non the less.

Being a West Coaster, you may appreciate this: I have surfed on Lake Michigan on several occasions. Down towards the Illinois/Indiana border, there are huge breaks once in a while. Of course, it is only during stormy, cold weather. Bring the wet suit!
