Electoral College

I am fine with the electoral college. I only wish gerrymandering would be done away with. Then, I would like the states to award the electors based on congressional district. Of course congressional districts would need to be awarded based on population...or some other version of popular/electoral college.

You should see the gerrymandering maps here in Pittsburgh, they dice up the neighborhoods around republicans and dems'. Guy across the street often is in a different district than his next door neighbor and then back across the other side the same way. Its a joke.

I would prefer that the electoral votes be split to better represent the true voice of the people. I wouldn't even object to rounding down for the loser. For example...Trump won all 6 of the Kansas electoral votes, but HIllary won 37% of the votes. If we are going to keep the electoral college, then Hillary would have got 2 of the electoral votes and Trump would get 4 of the popular vote. He still "wins" the state, but this BS of "winner take all" pretty much means that a democrat in Kansas OR a republican in California will ever have their vote count in a presidential election.

I go with the popular vote.
That's democracy.
One person, one vote.
What we have now is a republic and dill weeds (electoral) do not represent my vote.
It's disingenuous that we call our process as democratic, as we are 'democratic' like.
Just my 2 cents.

Places like Wyoming and Nebraska would never see another Presidential candidate again without some form of electoral college.

I am not the smartest tool in the shed so why don't you explain it to me.
Perhaps it has something to do with population density. I think the forefathers of this country were really smart

can't agree with you there, to me it just opens the door to California and New England/NY decided most elections

That video explains it pretty well.

The Senate was formed with 2 senators from each state, no matter how populous the state. That was designed to be the check against the tyranny of the majority.

Exactly......what the Electoral College prevents is one party domination of the political process which leads to tyrannical rule. This is why the democrats whine about the popular vote. This is also why they favor illegal immigration to bloat their party's numbers and guarantee voter dominance through numerical superiority....this is why we should stand together to stop tyrannical rule which is the end result of the popular vote.

We do not live in a democracy.

Trump hated it before he loved it... 😱

...and felt the need to tweet about it?

Doesn't he have stuff to do? WTF. He will be overtaken by his need for vengeance. He is showing to the world, more and more every day, the buttons to push.

Unreal.
