Not sure how thurs/fri went. But Some of the WO express carriers are severly understaffed. The open time list for 1 day alone is two pages long. (it's usually not more than 10 lines) Anyways, the 2nd/3rd/4th. are showing alot of trips uncovered, and no bodies to do it. Looks like it's going to be a bumpy weekend.....

Oh but Mgmt, for 8 months stated they were properly staffed, now severly.....oh well....they get their bonuses and promotions, while still subjecting the employees to horrible working conditions.....

When does the BoD get off their tushies and get a new CEO who can use more sophisticated tools other than Microsoft Excel and Word to run this airline - such as a brain?

They Know how to use Excel and Word. OK, then use Access and join them together. That is Office 101 level. They can be used, but its how they are implemented into the operation. It seems to me that they are trying for an Einstein level program, but they are only capable of using Fisher-Price Toys. BOD need to do something, cause Parker is uncapable of doing anything.

i heard piedmont is gonna have issues this summer. but if this is any indication--tomorrow, both of our originators are delayed-one for an hr and twenty mintues and the other for 30 mins or so, yet the crews flew them in tonite

Most likely rest requirements. If the crews flew in the terminators, it would prob. be very tight for them to take out the originators, if they are the typical 6am departure, and the terminator was 11pm/10pm ... etc etc

gee i wonder how that dude called a ceo will handle this i of course would not expectmuch anyway since there aint much to be had from them turds anyway

Wonder why we are getting triple pay now to pick up open flying. Fine by me. I need the extra money....especially to fly worn out, hot , broke down , dangerously manained , ugly, embarassing looking, sorry excuse for an airliner airplanes. But yea...we are severally understaffed. We are hiring 300 hr pilots that cant get through groundschool....the new AQP program has been declared the " No pilot left behind" program. We'll get em through....at the customers peril. Had to rant..sorry.

Well at least PDT is doing something, or attempting to do something, to cover the flying etc..... the other WO, well one of their comments was. Why should we give any incentive. They should be happy they are working for us. Hence Sat/Sun was a meltdown. Scheduling had f/o's sitting around for hours, while flights cancelled, I watched more than one capt. show up, flight cancel, and go home, as they said sched. didn't know what to do with them. Granted with about 2 pages of Open Trips for one day alone (who knows how many legs that equated to) They had their hands full. Though as I was speaking with them for 2 days to rearrange my schedule to fit what I needed done, they stated don't go by the open time list, as all that's cancelled, we've been told to fill on a leg by leg basis and just try to get things covered. Well the only way I got home was to actually operate the flight and bring it back out later today. The f/o I had, sat around all day asking for something to do, and flew 1 whole leg. Meanwhile. out of CLT at least 25 outbounds cancelled. Don't know about the other hubs, but probably just about as many. Alot of those were terminators, so the originators cancelled this a.m.
One instance, we had a delay at an outstation due to lightning, a lady had checked in going to PNS, by the time we were boarding they decided to cancel her connection to PNS, and there wasn't another seat available until late sun. afternoon.

Supposedly Tempe started asking what was going on. Pres of company "supposedly" was not being told the full ramification of staffing issues by the VP, and had to come clean. Will there be repercusions. Nahhh....will be blamed on the pilots again. Well we could of covered all the flying, but you see those pilots are being hard headed and don't know how great of a job it is to work here, and are refusing to show up for new hire classes. Once I straighten out their thinking and show them the light, on how great it is to spend 50K+ for their training, they will be kissing my boots for offering them a job at 17k/year. They will come around, just watch......
Headlines in CLT paper monday. "Airline Cancellations due to pilot sick out of new hire training."
HA

Wait, I heard the excuse today, from a VP wandering around. You see the scheduling department is inexperienced, and just can't handle the situation. Hmmm...strange, most of the schedulers have been here for at least 4+years. I guess at least we found our scape goat.

I work for PDT and commute on PSA. What fun....

We parked two airplanes for June, and the reward for less flying is fewer days off. I'm stuck with the minimum of 10 and hold a line. That was the best I could do.

Meanwhile, a new hire is going to get $2500 when he completes training and another $2500 when he's been here one year. Those of us who have been around a while and stuck it out through all the BS are rewarded with brutal schedules and not so much as a "thank you" from management.

Let this hole burn to the ground. I've never been treated worse at any other job, included the pizza places I worked at in high school.

I thought this, and many other reasons is why US Airways hired Robert Martens. What is Robert Martens doing to correct this problem?

Maybe this summer will be the final straw.

Maybe he will improve the bottom line and eliminate the uselessness of Vandalia and Salisbury. Add a couple extra dispatchers in PIT and a few crew trackers (wherever they are) and call it a day. HR can be done by SSO (yuck but whatever). Looks like a good way to save money to buy our brothers at Piedmonster a few new airplanes.

At least airplanes that have fewer cycles on them than a cheep floozy in Vegas.
