So lets see if we get this straight. They want to :

Require a federal license for all handguns and semiautomatics, including those you currently possess.

Require handgun and semi-auto owners to be thumbprinted at the police station and to sign a certificate that, effectively, the firearm will not be kept in a place where it would be available for the defense of the gun owner’s family.

The bill would make it unlawful in virtually all cases to keep any loaded firearm for self-defense. A variety of “crimes by omissionâ€￾ (such as failure to report certain things to the government) would be created.

We've been down this road many times before. But, for the record, let's repeat: Criminals do not obey existing laws. That's why we call them criminals. They will ignore this law as well. Actually, that's not accurate. The criminals will celebrate this law. If passed, it will make their illicit activities much easier to conduct.

Free men do not have to report ownership of their guns, pay taxes for the right to own a gun, and submit to psychiatric evaluations. Only subjects of an oppressive government are forced to submit to this kind of treatment. As Thomas Jefferson wisely noted, “. . . no free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.â€￾

The 2nd amendment isnt about duck hunting, its about protecting yourself from the government.

Case in point.

The globalists behind this agenda don't care about criminals. They tell you to lock yourself in your closet and dial 911 while someone breaks into your house; then pray the police get there on time...Well... don't pray...that's not PC. You should HOPE!
The real target is the armed populace.

If I remember correctly, once the Warsaw resistance got some guns, they managed to kill a lot of Nazi's and hold them at bay for several weeks...

When a corrupt government knows where the guns are, you can guarantee that is the first stop during a coup...

Time to go buy some guns in Juarez or Nogales. It's obviously pretty easy to get them across the border...

Myths About Gun Control
The center found, using a variety of sources including leading University of Florida criminologist Gary Kleck and the FBI's own National Crime Statistics reports, that:

* In 1976, Washington, D.C. enacted one of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation. Since then, the city's murder rate has risen 134 percent while the national murder rate has dropped 2 percent.

* After Evanston, Ill., a Chicago suburb of 75,000 residents, became the largest town to ban handgun ownership in September 1982, it experienced no decline in violent crime.

* Among the 15 states with the highest homicide rates, 10 have restrictive or very restrictive gun laws.

* Twenty percent of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just six percent of the population -- New York, Chicago, Detroit and Washington, D.C. -- and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns.

* New York has one of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation -- and 20 percent of the armed robberies. Even more troublesome is the fact that the places where gun control laws are toughest tend to be the places where the most crime is committed with illegal weapons.

Crime up Down Under

Since Australia's gun ban, armed robberies increase 45%

Australia shoots back at NRA

I heard a bit on the news while driving that the Big O wants to raise the fed tax on guns to make them harder to get.

Then of course we have our doper bandito's invading and murdering in our country and of course they get all their automatic weapons here.....

The primary function of the independent juror is not, as many think, to dispense punishment to fellow citizens accused of breaking various laws, but rather to protect fellow citizens from tyrannical abuses of power by government.[/b]
Its called jury nullification. In spite of what you see on Law and Order and its spinoffs, the jury is the ultimate authority in a court room. While the jury cannot change the law, it can decide whether a particular law is valid in a particular instance and decide whether to charge a defendant or acquit.

Evil handguns foil Robbery!

A man carrying a concealed .357 pistol foiled a robbery in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart at Cantrell and Chenal about 11:30 p.m. Monday night, the LR police said.

John Antonetz, 63, and his wife Lydia, 57, were loading groceries when a man tried to rob them, the report said. As the robber tried to take her purse, Antonetz "went around to the passenger side of the vehicle and retrieved his revolver from his concealed holster in his pants. Mr. Antonetz then went to the rear of the vehicle and observed Suspect 1 pointing a revolver at his wife. Mr. Antonetz then shot at Supspect 1 three times and once more when Suspect 1 got into Vehicle 1." He drove away with two other people.

Police made arrests at UAMS where one of the suspects had gone for treatment of a gunshot wound. Terry was admitted to UAMS for surgery on a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

The police report noted that Antonetz had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
