Fewer handlers in PHL today......

Ahhh, once again, a useless analogy from the union apologist. Answer a question for me, if you please. If CCY and Tempe did not terminate pensions and lower wages, would you or many other US/HP employees still have a job? I think not, because without the restructuring, both companies would have become defunct, ie. EAL, PAA, etc.

Keep spreading the union protectionist gospel.
Sounds like someone just may have some nasty rugburns on the knees, likely due to a recent "work assignment" by DP!!

Actually, you are prevaricating.

Management did not need those concessions, they simply asked and we gave.

Had you any intellectual capacity beyond that of a snail, you would have looked at the data and seen what most of us see, the request was simply a request and not a "need".

For a number of reasons, there is no way USAir would have gone away. We gave away retirement unnecessarily. ipso facto. So simple even a fool can see it.

Is it any wonder that some Shuttle dudes knew the only way they could access the USAir retirement program was to have it terminated. Not frozen but terminated. Any wonder four of the "voters" were Shuttle dudes? Any collusion between Shuttle dudes and management? Naw, couldn't be. Right? They wouldn't do that, would they?

Just as a clarification, were these guys Mainline rampers or Express?? They definitely aren't the same group of people.....

Oh please. .these people probably would have still stolen if they made $20/hour. It's called having a lack of morals.
I don't agree with your view at all. There is a difference in the clientel of people that you get for a low wage, high turnover job. These guys aren't making a decent wage, and have no long range plans of sticking with their jobs.
IF the wages were better, and these new hires were looking to make a career out of their jobs, it would be a different story. What we have here are a bunch of people who could care less if they do lose their jobs, and therefore they could care less about what they do, or don't do while at work. Yes, there are theives everywhere, but some may have contained themselves in order to keep a job that would someday be a good paying career for them. You would tend to think twice about what you are doing, if it meant that you could lose a job that you really want to keep. I also feel that if the situation were different that many of these scumbags that are being hired would not even be on the property to begin with. You do get what you pay for Period. They know that if the get fired, that WalMart or McDee's will give them a job, that is less work and may even pay more an hour. Sad, but true. I have seen the difference in the quality of people that the company gets in the past few years. At one time an Airline job was a good place to work, and you had to know someone to get in. Now it is just another low paying job, and all that you need to get hired is a Heartbeat.

Hey Spin,

I made no mention of anything to do with a union.

But if my pension was stolen why did the executives get theirs?

Why did Lakefield not take a paycut and the court forced cuts on the employees?

Why did Lakefield earn more then the CEOs of WN and B6 when they are profitable and US was in chapter 11 for the second time in less then two years?

Don't try to cloud the issue.

Save it for another day, THD (turd hearse driver). We all know that your wonderful IAM will be right there with some excuse to get these guys their job back. I mean after all, you must protect your brothers.....

I won't respond to the above post but do want to say that I've also complained bitterly about our operation in PHL, this newest apparent scandal doesn't help matters.

However, like any other work group, please remember that there are good employees doing the best they can in the midst of this mess. Let's not paint all of them in the same canvas as the bad apples. When you see one doing a good job-take a second and tell them!

Drug busts in MIA are an almost annual event....

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

A good point KEV, and exactly TRUE.

First it was EA, then AA. (sad to say)in MIA.

The "thing" about Drug Trafficing, is that the risk, (if not caught) is $$ Significant.

I DON'T ADVOCATE THIS ILLEGAL TYPE OF ACTIVITY !!

The difference between Drug Trafficing, and the petty thief, is that a guy making a $1000 a week, will still take a chance to make $20,000.

The HUGE northern cities(NY/BOS/DTW/ORD/PHL/DCA unfortunately are susceptable to these problems, ...BUT...AA in NY+ ORD/NW..in DTW+MSP..UA..in ORD,...DL in ATL...CO in EWR, for the most part do a good job of keeping a "lid" on this stuff.

"BUT" US in PHL..is a HORRIBLE FAILURE, which goes ULTIMATELY back to US MANAGEMENT !!

NH/BB's

Is that the best you can do is try to insult instead of sticking to the issue?

And by the way it was Stock Clerk.

And by law the any union has to represent its members. It is called the Duty of Fair Representation (DFR).

Don't let the facts get in your way.

I don't think so. 😀 Does blue water effect ones memory?

Then I can only hope that the level of representation for these thugs rises to level of the IAM's level of representation of (or lack thereof) the mechanics over the past several years. If it does then these guys will lose their jobs as well and serve their time behind bars......

Well since you never worked with me nor at US you did not know what my job classification was, and like I said, it was Stock Clerk.

So keep trying and keep clouding and avoiding the issue at hand.

Funny, never saw you in bankruptcy court nor at negotiations.

And as a matter of fact, never saw you at the Airbus Arbitration that we won for over $15 million only to have had turn into a pre-bankruptcy claim.

And through the first bankruptcy we still had the best scope language in the industry and we still overhaul more of our airplanes then another other Domestic airline except AA, but of course, they never filed chapter 11.

Keep trying and don't let the facts get in your way!
