Financial Statement 9/12 - 10/31

I want for all the world for U to survive...but what is the single event that SAVES the company? I do not see one. Third quarter was sobering enougth.....I really thought things might turn around in OCT. Concerns about bid positions in FEB might indeed be for nothing. Does anybody have an idea?....other than a white knight, how much would fuel have to fall, how much would employees have to give yet again, how much more would people have to fly? This pains me to say..but I just do not see this working. Oct was nightmare financially. Again. Thanks for the numbers Jim. Greeter.

Let's call this "fun with numbers".....financial performance in bankruptcy thru Oct 31 vs 3rd quarter.

Some remarks first...

I've included revenue data just for the fun of it. Obviously there will be seasonal differences since the BK period doesn't include any summer travel periods and the 3rd quarter does. I've not included % change numbers for revenue because of this.

Since we're talking about 1-1/2 months operation vs a quarter's operation, I'm presenting the amounts per day.

The company's numbers are rounded - the BK period to even thousands and the 3rd quarter to even millions. That means my numbers aren't precise since I just divided the company's numbers by the appropriate number of days.

Last (I think), the first number for each catagory is for the BK period (9/12 - 10/31), the second number is for the 3rd quarter, and the third number is the percentage change from the 3rd quarter.

And now the numbers:

With u losing about 4mil a day how is the 21%(38mil per month)cut in pay even going to help? Unless the judge approves that you work for free or the employees pay the company to come to work, this dog is dead. Lights out by mid Jan. abrogation or not. Remember U STILL has the HIGHEST nonlabor costs in the industry.

U and UA should have done the opposite -- gone after non-labor costs first, but if U reduces labor costs, it puts more pressure on its lessors, suppliers, and creditors to do likewise.
